Hi everybody,
most of the time, I'll get the presale password via email. As soon as I have it, I'll let you know. But last time I still didn't get first row, although I was the second online when they got on sale. The best seats showed up on ebay shortly before the concert- for $350.00.
Sometimes I really wonder, how these scalpers manage to do that, makes me really angry.

RJ,
how do you know, there will be a Presale??? I just checked the Hennepin Theatres Website and all I found was that Ticket sales will start on May 17th. No mention of a Presale. I also checked my emails, didn't get any anouncement so far but should I hear anything, I'll everybody know.

Anybody got any first-hand info down Hwy. 52?.. I mean, what's the word on the street peeps.. slip me some crimson Jimson.. is there a show that night?.. er what..

Oh darn it, Ticketmaster - how I hate them....
I'll email the guy from the State Theaters Box office again today and will innocently ask if there will be a Presale offer and if he could be so kind to give the Password to me, lol. He might refuse, but it's worth to try anyway, I think.
If he won't help us out than we can still play the guessing game. In the past the presale passwords had always something to do with the artist himself, like "Gordon" ( o.k, too easy ), or Harmony, or... whatever. We just have to try and if anybody finds out, he/she will hopefully post it here very speedy.

Yes some nice bloke out there suggested "GORDON" for the Cedar Rapids show and that worked (I of course had already tried "LIGHTFOOT")..! before throwing up my hands in utter defeat and asking for help etc.. proving once again I suppose, my life-long personal deficiency.. to give up too easy etc..
eheheheheh....

I guess, I can be pretty persistent when it comes to things I really, really want - like great seats to his show in Minneapolis, haha.
Let's make all an effort to find out that darn password.
It looks, like the email newsletter from the Hennepin Theater Trust always comes out on a Tuesday. Should it contain the presale password for Gordons show, it would still be early enought. Let's cross our fingers!!!

RJ, I wouldn't be worried too much. I just looked at their website and it seems, they have all kinds of different facilities for the various events. At least two of them would be suitable for Gordons concert - The Auditorium and the Taylor Hall, if I remember it right. So hopefully they confirm his concert soon - as well as the DECC, they really take their time...

On Ticketmaster they often offer "presales" and there is a box for you to type in the password. You get to go first, before the "general public". I have no idea who gives out the Lightfoot passwords but for instance I'm in the Counting Crows Fan Club and they email me the password before the "presales" start. If you can get the password it's really the way to go.

So I'm assuming then that there will be a link to click on at Ticketmaster that says "Presale" and then we will have to put in a password and then can buy tickets a day ahead of everyone else. Huh. I was wondering if you had to be a member of the Hennepin Theatre District or State Theatre in order to get that password. I wonder if Louise in Minneapolis is aware or if she has any connections? I'm gonna try something, and will let you know if I have any luck.

Gitchigumee,
I think, sometimes you have to be a member - unfortunately to get presale ticket offers for concerts means a membership level of $500.00 or more, if I'm not mistaken. There're cheaper level of memberships but than the concerts are not included... I only signed up for the newsletter and emails about upcoming events. I do get it once a week, usually on Tuesdays and sometimes they include a presale password... I emailed the box office manager today and asked innocently if I could get this password.... No response so far.
If everything fails, we just need to try different password options. I would think it shouldn't be sooo hard to find out but it takes up some time. And in the meantime all others already bought the best seats

I just scanned through our old posts from last year to the same topic.
It turned out, that there was a presale for the Minneapolis concert but you didn't need a password at all. So maybe we'll get lucky once again. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Password is SUNDOWN. 1 hour 15 minutes before the presale begins. Wish me luck! And good luck to you all!
