Watchman: Do you mean something else wrong other than the fact that is NOT a tattoo of Gord on his arm?
Of course you certainly mean the reference to the song title in the photo being "If I Could Read Your Mind" as opposed to the correct "If You Could Read My Mind."

I would be interested in knowing what else is written in the picture. This is, apparently, an advertisement congratulating Gord on his first Top 40 Hit...but what else does it say? I tried enlarging it but it distorts too much to read. How 'bout it BillW..care to enlighten us?

Great googly moogly Mr. Watchman, what have you started. The tattoo is a black rose but I may get Gordon soon, only kidding ! The framed ad is from Billboard when he switched labels back in the day, welcoming him on-board, etc. It lists radio stations where you could listen to his "new stuff" and of course it is mis-worded one of the many reasons that I like it. I told you that Borderstone and I look alike enough to be mistaken as twins. We've even got the same style shirts, LOL. But seriously folks, is purple a good color for a man my age ???

Bill, didn't you have a goatee or something when we sat next to each other in Glenside? I seem to remember you as looking different than this.

Bill
Roses are black
His shirt is purple
Is BillW's favorite song
"Love and Maple Surple"?
Purple is a great color at any age unless it's the lining of your casket. And it looks like that won't be happening any time soon.

Cathy,
I was trying to think back. Two years ago, just about right ? I had on a flowered shirt like Gordon often wears, I was two years younger, but I'm thinking I probably needed a shave and since we were sitting side by side in the dark it was probably a shadow. If I had a scanner I'd post the picture of Gordon and me in the alley, I look about the same only he's "live" in that picture, LOL.

BillW, I just pulled out the picture I had taken with Gordon at Glenside to see if I saw you in the background but there was just the hint of a security guard behind Gordon. Besides, my pic is from May 13, 2001, 3 years ago, but you may have been there that time also. We are talking about the Keswick in Glenside right? And you look good in purple!

Long River,
Yes I was also there in 2001 but I did not try for pictures or autographs that year so I wouldn't be in any pictures except for an audience shot. It was in 2002, the year I call the "corfid summit", that I actually met a bunch of the folks who post here. jbt and his sister lavender(aka formerlylavender) insisted that they knew exactly when he would be coming into the alley. (true) and that I just had to be politely aggressive (true) but I was hanging back and jbt sort of shoved me up front (true) which is when Gord signed the program and posed for the picture. I was hoping to learn from the other folks who post here how to get on the backstage list for 2003 but alas that was not in the cards. But now that he's on the mend anything is possible. But at this point distance is no longer a question. If he is playing and I can get tickets I'll travel anywhere to see him again.
Bill

Okay Bill W you look great in purple, but, I imagined you as fairly short, very dark thick hair, that was streaked with gray strands and black rimmed (CPA glasses)glasses and no facial hair. So you have no facial hair and you wear glasses I was tttthhhiiisss close to hitting the nail on the head. LOL

Oma,
Tell your good looking Dad I said hi. Interestingly the black panther or the black rose are traditional 'cover ups' over old tattoos or scars. Ask him if he has something under that cat,LOL.

billw,
i love the picture.
it's true, i did violently shove billw up front, and i've been shallowly repenting ever since, but he did manage to get in a great photo with gord, so it was all worth it.
great post watchman.
