Watchman? Watchman? Help! Hey PTTS, have you ever been to Fathom Five? I would love to get picture from out there again. I gues I will just have to make the trip again.
Hey, you know it's funny that Gord never wrote anything about that area and it's just in his own backyard too. The wrecks there did not entice him because of how long ago they sank. Too bad, I have read so many books about the ships in that narrow area and that area in general. Well, another day, huh?
Brink, did you see the post for you in the small talk section?
Bye

paddletothesea,
You have to have the pics uploaded on the internet to post them on a forum. If it's easier for you, email them to me and I can post them for you.

But there is a nice scan of the Sheet Music cover at:- http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/store/smp_inside.html?cart=82300272254&sku=WB.VS073 6&page=cover
they are offering the sheet music for $3.95 the same price as printed on it

Thanks for the info John, that may have been the website I attempted to reproduce the pic from.
I do have the sheet music. I purchased it some years ago from 'Music Pro'? I think from somewhere in Canada, $5.95. It is my pride and joy (Apart from my D18GL) as Gordon has signed it for me. With dedication.

OK so far so good but nobody has yet answered the oft-asked question "how to post a picture on this bulletin board" I tried several times before I succeeded last week in making a my picture of a CNR diesel in Jasper Alberta stick
So for the benefit of "Edna with her head in the clouds" and others
I thought a short tutorial would help those members of the great unwashed public who are not as gifted as Al the Watchman!!! No insult intended or implied to any of the fine people reading this!!!
As this is really off topic I will start a new topic on the “Small Talk" forum under the title
“how to include a picture in your message”
but meanwhile here is an interesting picture I discovered on the
a site with some good reading (maps) etc on the Fitz
]http://www.uoguelph.ca/~dtyszler/Image4.gif[/img]
linked to the actual picture on the site http://www.uoguelph.ca/~dtyszler/EdFitzWeb.htm
of course as you will see in my tutorial
how to include a picture in your message Although there are several outdated links on that site to Newsgrouper Tony Wesley’s comprehensive Fitz page these links should now be to :- http://tonywesley.com/edm-fitz.html

If you ever learn to post pictures on here, PLEASE SEND THEM!!!
By the way, does anyone know of where I might could get an Edmund Fitz shirt with a photo or picture of the ship broken in 2 on the front or back?? I doubt there are any but please let me know.
Also, are there any Fitz shirts with a picture of the ship on the front or back with lyrics of the song written above it?

I expect to get such a tee will require you to select the pictures and wording you desire then take it to a local tee shirt printer
or find out how to do it using an ink-jet colour printer
However and after a modicum of Googling for "edmund fitgerald" then searching within the results for "tee shirts" I found http://www.greatlakesbrewing.com/glb...p_id=1&catid=1
who already have a fitz tee for $17.95
during this and other searches I found a wealth of other interesting fitz sites
including in particular:- http://www.lakersphotography.com/fitz/bigfitz_dec01.htm
which shows a fine model under construction
and the site by seventeen year-old webmaster Timothy C. McCall
http://www.ssefo.com
which sets out to be in its latest revised format
"the all new S.S. Edmund Fitzgerald Online, the most comprehensive
and informative website about the S.S. Edmund Fitzgerald anywhere on the internet!"
Whilst replying the site where I found the very nice sunset painting that I originally
linked to in my tutorial on putting picures on this forum is:- http://pet-portraits.net/edmund_fitz...artprints.html
which also features a feast of fitz desktop wallpaper pictures at http://www.pet-portraits.net/edmund_...wallpaper.html
If you search long enough you will undoubtedly find the sort of pictures you want to sport on your tee shirt
I should have mentioned before that the gentleman posing in front of his namessake in the photo I linked to earlier is the president of the insurance company that originally financed construction of the fitz

It sure does Gwen and I'd be mighty obliged if you actually live in Cleveland if you could acquire and send to me
a crate or two of "burning River Pale Ale" http://www.greatlakesbrewing.com/Brews/burning.cfm
that page refers to "English Pale Ale made in Burton-on-trent" this is undoubtedly a reference to the famous Bass Pale Ale first produced in 1777; its red triangle trademark was registered in 1876 as the world's first trademark
while you are at it you might as well include a case of the Edmund Fitzgerald porter please as described at http://www.greatlakesbrewing.com/Brews/edmund.cfm
As matter of interest to any beer lovers here
I once heard a BBC radio program talking about a brewer called Samuel Whitbread who invented a hybrid beer mixture that he tried out on the stout porters at the nearby London Smithfield meat market hence the 2 names for a strong brown beer.
this is somewhat confirmed at http://freespace.virgin.net/mark.spe...#Portersporter
You see it is truly amazing what pearls a bit of Google surfing can unearth!!
BTW the pic I linked to earlier shows the president of the insurance company that financed the construction of the Fitz in font of his namesake in case anybody was wondering why I chose that pic as my experiment in making pics appear here

In responce to the post regarding a movie about the Fitz' sinking...this has been in the works for several years. I once, actually got ahold of the producer and was told that they were in the "casting" stages. This was almost 2 years ago. He kept my email address, but never got back with me with any updates.
There is however, a movie out about life on a "laker". It's called "LakeBoat". I have a copy of the movie and am not sure if I like it or not. It has several "famous" actors in it, and great footage of the actual ship (the Seaway Queen). It's kind of obscure, but worth watching once.

One thing I definetley know about movie - making in Hollywood,if a movie takes more than 2 years to make, expect a disaster. Look back to,"Heaven's Gate" for proof. Or even as most recently in the case of Mariah Carey's,"Glitter". She started talking about that movie in '96 or'97 and it didn't get finished until 2001! As most people who did see the move said to me,she needs acting lessons! Getting released the week of 9/11/01 didn't help either. We can only hope that if this film ever is completed that it doesn't sink like a stone. (No bad taste humor intened.) Been me,later!

Hm-m. No, John I don't live in Cleveland, I just up there last week and I intend to be there next weekend at the airshow. I suppose I could look it up for you, however, Old Watchman lives up there somewhere and I bet he knows where the brewery is, any idea Watchman?
When I spent some time in England I found those dark ales and stouts to be butt-kickers, know what I mean?

I live about 60 miles NE of Cleveland. I have heard of that brewery but not being a drinker, I have never been there. I am going to get a bottle with the Fitz on it though. Just in case times ever get tough and I have to move into a trailer, I will have something to put in my window.
No offense to anyone who lives in a trailer. I drove through a trailer park last weekend and saw a trailer with bottles in the window. No offense.

Well John, as luck would have it, I'm heading for Cleaveland in 3 weeks. If you are real nice, and buy me a NJ beer tomorrow night, I may just bring you back something!
