Gordon Lightfoot Update
Public Relations & Communications
Gordon Lightfoot remains in serious but stable condition in the intensive care unit at Hamilton Health Sciences.
"Mr. Lightfoot continues to make slow progress, but there is still a long road ahead," says surgeon Dr. Michael Marcaccio
This is getting ridiculous!
Get well soon Gord!

Has the thought occurred to anyone else that, perhaps, Gord is up and out of the hospital...home recuperating...and these non-status reports from the hospital are just intended to keep fans, well-wishers and morbid curiousity-seekers from bothering him? Just a different kind of thought to get a whole new rumour mill churning!

Hmmmm I highly doubt the hospital would use that tactic, The Toronto media knows full well where Gord lives in Toronto and if they got wind he was home surely there would be some groundbreaking news on that front. Just my 2 cents

Yes, I'm sure you are right Gord. But I thought it was about time that we started a "positive" spin going on the rumour mill for a change!

Hfan,
Are you the one who has acquaintances at the hospital? If so, is there any "reliable information" which you could safely share with us?

Restless,
Yes, I am the one who was passed information that was 2nd hand info. I do not want to call what I posted a reliable report. I don't know the person from whom the info came well enough. However, I do know others who work at the hospital. I do not ask specific questions of these two people because I don't want to break confidentiality (and put them in an uncomforatble and unprofessional position), but I have to confess, I have tried fishing for some very general info to help me understand what is happening. I don't want to post much more information that is not specific and verified because I don't want to offend the moderators or cause rumours that are incorrect. I'll just say that I've heard from one of these two people, and I may run into the other one tomorrow. Until I verify what I've heard to my satisfaction, I would not consider posting it, and even then I'm hesitant. I will say though that my knowledge of the situation can be summed up in this way: Gordon Lightfoot is very ill.
I am a huge fan, and I hope and pray that he will recover and be able to play Massey Hall again. If that happens, I will be there!
