For the sports fans, an excerpt from today's Toronto Star on the Blue Jays/Los Angeles Angels game:
"The game started with what looked like a bad omen. With two out in the first, first baseman Eric Hinske dropped a pop foul off the bat of slugger Vladimir Guerrero that would have ended the inning. A few pitches later, Guerrero blasted a homer to give the Angels the lead.
But the Jays took the clubhouse sign to heart and kept fighting. Starter Josh Towers gave up just one earned run in 6 2/3 innings, while Miguel Batista got the win with two innings of shutout relief.
Canadian icon Gordon Lightfoot was in the front row for last night's game. For the Jays, it ended up like "Carefree Highway." The Angels? They left the park humming "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald."
