Re: Songs About Places.
Though It's titled "I'm an Indian Wherever I Go" it mentions Hawaii.
This was from the years when she was on Sesame Street and the episode where the cast visits her in Hawaii.

Re: Songs About Places.
I posted this once a while back but it certainly fits the topic.
Jesse wrote it about his hill top home near San Francisco, though I understand he now resodes in Hawaii.
Don't know if he has a song about that place.

Re: Songs About Places.
Don't know how many version of this song exists.
I heard it some 34-35 years ago by a different group.
This version I believe was recorded in 1967.

Re: Songs About Places.
What year? Good question, I first heard the song on a radio program. "Sounds of the Sixties" I know that Lee Dresser is no longer with us. But, as you say a good song.

Here's an Australian send-up I remember from the 1970s TV comedy series The Aunty Jack Show.
"I've been to Wollongong, Wollongong, Wollongong, Wollongong, ..."

Re: Songs About Places.
Here's a song which I'd love to know what was the inspiration behind being from the Chicago area myself.
