hey, hope all's well in Pattiville
I'll bet your friend has some wonderful stories from chats with Roy...I enjoyed reading the Dark Star bio...Roy was really, go, go, go....speed, speed, speed unfortunately took it's toll...he was right in the midst of peaking in his comeback...I love a good portion of that Mystery Girl album and all his contributions to the Wilbury's
ok, the lyrics of Face of 1000 People show Gord's early talents with the pen...in case you haven't had the pleasure of hearing our RonJ's delivery of this classic, back at a 2006 group jam, here it is:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6v51F...e=channel_page
when he picked up that guitar and broke into song, there was no doubt in my mind that this would be the lead off to the fan jam video montage...without benefit of an amplifying mic, his vocals filled that hotel room with song ...he's said he has issues keeping steady tempo...not!

Re: Your Song
Mystery Girl was great but my favorite is the posthumous compilations CD that his widow, Barbara released in 1992. I was supposed to buy the new 4CD set and 3 Lightfoot Cd's that were put aside for me at a store that was closing a couple of weeks ago and it completely slipped my mind .
thnx for the youtube link jj and I agree

Re: Your Song
Hey, Pam, that's pretty cool, sharing a birthday with Roy Orbison. Shakespeare too?
Thanks for the link jj. So, RonJ likes that song too. That's good.

Re: Your Song
That is cool. My birthday has a few musical types - Jim Croce, Rod Stewart, Pat Benetar, Scott Mackenzie, Donald Fagen oh, and Ronnie Hawkins!
Add to that the ball player Willie McCovey. Pretty cool.

Re: Your Song
I love Jeff Lynne and Roy Orbison...both are such great artists. I have always wanted Jeff Lynne to work with the Moody Blues. I think it would be a very interesting combo
Roy is one of a kind. Anytime that I hear "Pretty Woman" I have to smile. Such a great song and he had so many after that one.
jj, enjoyed the Gord gathering video. I love watching those. So many talented fans and they are so joyful when playing Gord's music...it's just so special to watch that.
Also, the Jeff Lynne interviews. Very good Thanks!
Sharing birthdays with famous people....I can't think of any at the moment. I will have to look it up.
Patti, nice to have you back I missed you.

I have to say that I thought this was very silly of Ron I had previously tried to be nice to him. But if he really has put me on his ignore list it is his loss as I do believe me strive to post interesting and/or useful messages. so Mr Meason are you reading this or not??
