I've been lurking on this bb for quite some time now and this is my first time to register and post. Most of you share the same feelings about Gord's songs that I do (sometimes I swear he and I dated the same girls) and I would be at a loss to articulate those feeling any better than has already been done. If any of you like good acoustic music, check out the acoustic cafe at boomerradio.com. I listen at work and they've never failed to play at least two GL songs during the day. The other selections are very good as well and I'm sure most of you will enjoy.

The gl is for gordon lightfoot, of course. I was born and raised in Memphis and now live in Nesbit, Mississippi which is a suburb. I've been hooked since since 1969 or 1970 when I first heard IYCRMM, seen GL live in Memphis once, twice in Salt Lake and I had 4th row tickets for last October's St Louis show when the illness took place. My hope was to take my kids to see him while he was still performing, even though they look at me with those eyes that say, "Dear dad, why do you do things like this to us?" My prayers are that Gord will recover and be able to tour again.

Yeah...agreed! My son is 22 now and, even though he may not have completely agreed at the time, one of the shared joys we have is of attending several GL concerts together over the years. For the most part he has been pretty tolerant of my addiction and, secretly, I think he enjoys partaking of an occasional Lightfoot fix, though he may not be quite the junkie that I am! Hope you get to share GL with your kids one day, too, Southern GL Fan!!!

I just found this old thread and I can honestly say,the above "Borderstone" is not me.

I think this was back before they changed the site. I was "here" but as you know, not registered as a user and not even posting.

Borderstone - I still lurk from time to time and I was the original poster. Looks like some techno gremlin duplicated my posts under your name. In my job our terminology for this is "An Undocumented Functionality". Interesting you would notice this after so many years.

Exactly. I've even seen some of the moderator's postings attributed to me. Talk about character assassination. I'm still trying to clear my name.

You're taking requests ?......Great. Do the one where pics appear under the wrong screen name. For a long time I thought BILLW looked like Moosedog.

If I was a woman I'd take that as a compliment... actually anyway you look at it - that would be an upgrade, LOL. Thanks.

Well RM,I didn't plan on "dredging this up" but while searching for a different topic,I happened to find this one with my username on it.

Upon reading I was like,"I don't remember saying/thinking/typing that"??!!

I really don't have any other reason for responding to it than I just felt it was important.

Thanks for the reply Southern GL Fan! That explains everything.
