The big red letters at the top say "Adon Ha'selichot" and the smaller letters say "L'yomim hanoraim."
Yomim Hanoraim means High Holidays. Specifically they are, Rosh Hashana-The Jewish New Year and Yom Kippur, which is the Day of Atonement. On the High Holidays Jews sing songs and prayers of "Selichot" (Forgiveness).
"Adon Ha'Selichot",one of the songs, and the name of the album that the picture originally depicted, translates to "Master of Forgiveness", a reference to G-d. The picture before editing was of an album of High Holiday songs by a singer called Mordachai Bouzaglo. You can see the picture in its original context and hear some of the song at www.israel-music.com/mordechai_bouzaglo/adon_ha'selichot/

Thanks LSH,
Well I know what shake is ever since my drug interdiction days in the military, LOL, bagged quite a few oz. of that stuff as evidence. Never misplaced so much as a seed, mostly. But I'm so old that the biggest beer bottle was a quart (which was 32 ounces) when I was still at the party. Thanks for the help - can't believe I've gotten 'slang impaired'.

Thanks, Erica! We got some of it, but, not the rest, so we didn't want to just say what only certain words were until we knew. Great job! And if I had a 40 in my hand, I'd say, "L'Chaim!"

No No Cathy the 1958 Phil Spector recorded Teddy Bear's hit was although sung softly was called
"TO KNOW HIM IS TO LOVE HIM "
As an aside for anyone keen on Rock and Roll history, while googling for "Teddy Bears details I came across this great review
by none other than Spencer Leigh who did the great 1999 Gord interview for BBC Radio Merseyside:- http://www.spencerleigh.demon.co.uk/rnrhits.htm

I checked Spencer's main site:-
http://www.spencerleigh.demon.co.uk
to verify that I had seen that he had his Gord interview published
but it not referenced on that site:-
after googling I found http://www.banned-width.com/shel/mis...gh/bcysad.html
which describes the relevant interview book
one quote from the interview and book
"I had a stray girlfriend and she was out at the bar meeting one of my competitors. When I'm in a relationship and there is infidelity, I find I can make it work for me in songs." (Gordon Lightfoot)
i wonder if Our Silverheels well-heeled as she is has a copy??
Now back to my email as I see that Jimbo has produced the artwork for Cathy's volume two suggestions and sent it to me to upload because he has presumably given up sorting oot his sympatico.ca webspace shame on you sir!

So here it is but I must comment that James has dismally failed to do his usual 500% job. I do believe that as is the case with GG1 and GG2 when there are two albums each has its own front cover/insert as well as the back insert listing the contents
So what about it Jim??
Furthermore I must point out that Cathy's list omitted The Wreck of the Titanic duet with some obscure Canadian Chanteuse
and Queen Elizabeth Highway with somebody?

I would not even think of putting that woman on a Gord CD, even if it is a fake CD.
Well, let me look at the song list again. Maybe I can find something that fits (her big mouth).

i know, as a human being, i have failed...lol
look, instead of making good use of my limited computer time (like learning how to load pics to sympatico, etc), i spend it doing worthless pic edits (which starts by searching all over the internet for pics of things like rabbis, etc...while ever other normal guy is having fun searching for cheerleader pics, etc, lol)
sorry, coach, i didn't even give it 110%, lol
hey, thanks for participating all (for a minute i thought we might get to 1,300 replies and surpass the StationMaster, lol)
btw, i love Lifeline--Regis Philbin

Re: Question
Bringing this very topical thread back to the top
Following the release of the Love Songs compilation and the eagerly awaited "Sunrise" album for fans in Japan, Florian has announced the formation of Corfid Family Records to better handle the promotion and distribution of Gordon Lightfoot specialty album products.
The new organisation is of course really based in his native Vienna, no no Virginia in Austria not WVA
In addition the "Not Songbook " boxset has been issued to contain all 6 albums currently available
Note that the Japanese album will be released just as soon as I have completed the artwork
