I've been having this idea in the back of my mind for some time now, ever since I last read the "Red Friday" postings. The idea that I had was this. What do you think of the idea about sending the service men & women, who are serving in places such as Iraq, what I call "goody boxes", packages that contain little things like homemade goodies & the like. Things that would be little touches of home, as well as being lovely little morale boosters for them. See, another reason that I've had this idea on my mind is that I have a brother who's in Iraq right now.

Timetraveler,
Just let me know what to do and where to send it and I am there.

Canadian Forces rules may vary, but for US services, see http://www.anysoldier.com/HowToSend.cfm

Yes it's a nice idea. I actually had a soldier open the door for me on the way into work today, dressed in his camo, boots, etc. I saw him plugging the parking meter as I was coming across the parking lot, and if I'd have been closer, I might have tried plugging the meter for him, just as a way of saying "thanks". As it turned out, he ended up doing me a favor instead.

I'll bet lots of us have connections with soldiers overseas. Maybe we could use Personal Messaging, to share addresses of some of those soldiers, in case we wanted to send goodies or messages to them. Probably not a good idea to post their names here. You would just have to let us know that you have a soldier, and then we could PM you so you could give us the info. We could start with Timetraveler's brother. What do you think?
