Very interesting, John. The horse looks similar. I think mine was a little bigger, though. And I sure a h*ll wasn't wearing a gown. I think I spent 90% of my youth dressed in jeans.

How about this one? I'm out playing baseball with the Fraser kids, my neighbors, about age 12, and a UFO slowly flies over us. I've had this dream several times, too.

Speaking of non-GL dreams...I watched "Hotel Rwanda" and 1966's,"The Sand Pebbles" back to back the other night.

Boy,was that a mistake! I ended up dreaming some militant type group was holding me and a lot of other people hostage in an abandoned concert hall!

That's the last time I watch 2 violent movies together!

Ok, I changed my mind. I'll write about that dream I had in March. First, we were in church. Gordon was at the podium. I was in the front row. I think Gordon was a little surprised to see me there. (usually when I go to church, I sit toward the back. Lately, I have not been attending very often)Ok, so Gordon was at the podium. I had heard he was coming, so I don't know why he would be surprised that I was right there. I don't remember if he was singing or talking...I think he did have his guitar. Afterward a bunch of us were having the social group in another room and of course Gordon and I were together. The best part of the dream was that he and I had our arms around each other in a very comfortable grip. Then, we were suddenly outside going to some big building and there were quite a bunch of people going back and forth. Then I couldn't find Gordon, and some gruff looking man asked me in kind of a mean way if I was going to go home to my mommie now. !? ...I said no, that I was going to hang out with Gordon if I could find him. Then the guy smiled like he had just heard some good news.

Patti,Ithink you saw Gordon atthe podiumof a church because,in a sense,you and the rest of us sort of talk about Gordon in a praising manner.

I'm not saying that we completly put him above God,but it can be said that we should be putting God on this pedastal (for lack of a better word)instead of Gordon.

Maybe that's why Gordon is "surprised" to see you in church. He'd expect you at a concert but since you don't often attend,he's surprised.

So maybe,that tight hug you and he share and then you lose sight of him,is a message that's saying you should be putting God first and Gordon second.

The man asking about you going home to mommy,could mean he's asking if you want to be born again. (I'm not saying I know this to be a big religious dream but it seems that way.)

Why he would smile,I can't guess.

Hi Borderstone.
I do put God first in my life. That's why I love others. Most of my life has been like a river of light. I am a child of God and have tried to stay close to Jesus.
In the dream, I think Gordon was like a guest speaker. I think he was suprised that I knew.
The tight hug just seemed like togetherness. We were together in the social room and respected as a couple in the church.
I don't know what all was going on outside and what that big building might have been, but I had a feeling it had something to do with the entertainment business.
Why that one man would be so gruff, I can't guess.
Maybe the guy smiled because he knew Gordon would find me.

Time again for another one! Yep,the night before last. This one was kind of short. I dreamed some people (who obviously knew me but whom I couldn't see in the dream) were giving me a pizza party!

Gordon was there and wearing a hawaiian shirt! :D Looked like the one I own by the way.
He kept gesturing to me,through a window,to hurry up and get into the party but for some reason I was busy doing something else that most likely,wasn't that important.

By the time I finished,whatever..the party was over and everyone had left. I got one solitary slice of pizza.

When it comes to having a dream about Gordon, mine was one where I meet him at some sort of a social gathering where there are a lot of celebrities. Somehow, I felt so at ease talking to the man himself. Anyway, at the end of the evening, as I was getting ready to leave, he asked me to hold on for a minute while he went to get something for me. Lo & behold, he gives me a nicely wrapped package, and when I open it I find that it has every album he ever recorded on CD. When I asked him what was the reason, he said it was because he simply felt like it. Now that's what I call a sweet dream.

Well,it's been over 5 months since the last time I spoke of a GL related dream but I really have an important one to tell you about! Important why? I dreamt it on his birthday!!!

This morning before I woke up,I dreamed that I was at an after-concert "meet & greet" and Gordon walked up to shake my hand,take a photo and sign (get this) the non-existant "Night Light" album (cover)that Zone Ranger made for me here on Corfid!

He was sort of looking like he does on the "Waiting For You" back cover and some folks behind me asked him to sing a little of one of his UA songs (I can't remember which one now). I could actually hear him singing whatever it was.
Then they left and I noticed he had put on those glasses he wore on the cover of Early Lightfoot (before he grew the beard and moustache). Said his eyes were tired.

I said,"y'know I saw you in August,2002 on my Grandmother's birthday"?
Gord:Oh,did she like it?
ME:"She wasn't there it was just on the same day." "She's been gone some time now."

(Now everyone knock wood when I tell you what he said next! ) :

Gord:"Oh,I'm sorry about that". "Speaking of being gone,the fellas & I have decided this next tour will be the last".

Me:"I sort of had a feeling it might be". ( Bite my tounge!! )

Gordon:"Well don't you worry,we will be in Phoenix in August". (A dream prediction??! )

Then it turned into a whole other dream about my job.

Anyhow,I dreamed a Gordontime Dream on his birthday....weird!!

I was at The House of Gord on Saturday night - on his birthday, recalling last year when the whole place sang Happy Birthday to him every night. Backstage I was honoured to give him a card signed by many of the folks present and printouts of the wishes from fans here at corfid..
it was nice to see Mr. Bernie Fiedler on Saturday and be there in that wonderful hall with all of those memories..
May 2008 can't come fast enough..

I had a "Gordontime Dream" last night for the first time in recent history. In my dream, Gord looked the same as he did in about 1980. He was doing a private concert for Corfidians only. The venue was very small and intimate (like a coffee house type of place) that had sofas and overstuffed chairs instead of regular theater seats. There were only about two dozen of us there. Instead of staying on the stage, Gord would walk up to each individual and sing a few lines of each song, while looking into the person's eyes. I remember feeling so shy, I could barely make eye-contact with him! It was delicious!!! After the concert, there was a big pool, and we all went swimming. (I wonder if the swimming pool has any Freudian significance? )

Well I have never had a (a sleep)dream about Gord.

But just the other day my daughter was home from college. She mentioned to me in a very surprised fashion over breakfast. "Dad, I had a dream about Gordon Lightfoot". She couldn't believe it. My family are so saturated by his music and life from my obsession, they find it quite amusing. But, she was laughing at how she would have a dream about GL. They were planning a New Years eve party for a few days. She said the dream was a party at our house and Gordon was there. Sitting on our couch(sofa). And she asked to play a song. Thats was all I got.

But about daytime dreams....and fans...and such.

My friend's wife is a blue rodeo fan. She goes to all the concerts. Loves Jim Cuddy. Her husband never goes to the concerts with her. He says that would ruin the whole evening as she pretends and dreams of all sorts of things while she sees the band...goes back stage..(she makes them brownies etc). ( all in are 50s here...wanting to be teenagers again)

When she comes home, as the husband tells the story, he has Cuddy sex.
I guess he figures there is a benefit to him for his wife having an obsession as a fan of Blue Rodeo.

So the question today is ....

How many guys out there are enjoying the benefits of there wife being a fan of Gordon Lightfoot.
So they can claim they are getting Lightfoot love. ...so to speak.
