Gord on WKSU radio

Last night as I was leaving work I had Kent States' radio station on because a lot of Cape Bretton music was being played. Was out of the car for a minute and when I got the car back on the song Harmony was on!!! I turned it up and flew out of the parking lot enjoying the moment, when I hit the express way to head north to Stow, Harmony was finishing, but, 2 other Gord songs then played (that I had never heard before), first the dj played Tony Rices' Sixteen Miles. Last but not the least interesting was a song the dj described as a Tribute album song by a group formed by Sylvia (of Ian and Sylvia), the song was Song For A Winter Night. I am going to send an e-mail over to Kent state to continue the good music on the Friday night Folk Music show. If any of you can tune into the show on Fridays it is quite interesting. Gwen

That show is on Fri, Sat, and Sun nights.

And I'm stuck here in the States!! -- Oh, o.k., Gwen has just told me that it IS in the States -- there ya go... but, it's in ANOTHER state! Well, Gwennie, record it next time and make a link for us! Don't ask me how!

malspapa, yes you are right. Do you listen to this "show"? I never get to listen on Sat or Sun. But, I like to listen to wksu, they have interesting music and topics. Glad you listen because we need to support "shows" like this.

you know what Char I am glad you reminded me, there was another Canadian on there with a song called "we're all on this bus together" (a song about Jesus, Buddha and Muhammad riding on a train together) I had a good laugh with it, but, I forgot the artist name. I love the folk art program at Kent State, in the summer they have an event where everyone gathers for one weekend and listens to all different genres of folk music.

And, it must have been late when I made that post, because I realized after reading yours this morning that since I was able to listen to CBC radio on the internet (still can't figure out how to record it, though, I'm working on it), I needn't record it or ask anyone else to. And, yes, I already discovered folk alley some time ago. By the way, a pipe goes really good with that college professor thing... do you smoke? LOL

Well 'tis as must be obvious by now I do enjoy trying to teach old dogs new tricks yes but my teeth are now too long to think of a new career. I have yet to crack the recording method myself though I must admit, but when I do I will publish my planned tutorial on MusicMatch (complete with an explanation of "ID3 tags wot dat you say? it's the useful ability to get MusicMatch to display whilst playing an mp3 the song title, performer and the artwork of the album the track comes from).
That will be one of my long planned tutorials under the generic title "Uncle John's introduction to ..."

will review the whole process of acquiring a free web site then writing a selection of web pages to be uploaded
all written so that even Char will understand and then anybody can experience the thrill of seeing their masterpiece (or not) appear on screen and know that anybody else can see it if they give them the link

I rarely look but yes I was an up to 50 a day man for over 40 years until my stroke in 2000 one great side effect of that enforced hospital stay was that I have not touched a "fag" since I went in . Pity that the young man from the great white North was unable to do likewise

Yes I know my dear but it was nevertheless quite a strugle so what I meant was my next tutorials will try to be easier to follow if that is possible

No I was implying that it was somebody else who had the chance to give up when in hospital and HE had the "advantage" that I never had of being in a coma for 6 plus weeks when I doubt if he were able to smoke one single fag geddit???

A great series of pix by others ensued but everybody used the admittedly extremely easy to use hostmyfile.net site that I no longer recommend because it has a finite life on storing pictures and thus all those pix have now disappeared.Oh well I must finish my research on free websites PDQ.then I can compose my revised consolidated definitive tutorial on picture displaying using and recommending a suitable free web site that allows hot-linking and wont expire. Sorry for the delay
