AFL player John McCarthy, visiting Las Vegas on an end-of-season trip with a few teammates, fell 9 metres to his death at the Flamingo Casino Hotel just before 6am on Sunday. Mystery surrounds the circumstances, as he had become separated from his mates, phoned his girlfriend to say he wanted to return to Australia, ended up at this hotel 4Km away and was seen alone on a roof which he may have reached by climbing a nearby palm tree. I guess the facts will become clearer over the next few days.
