Default perfection, not

congrats to the hurler anyhow and to his good sportsmanship

that was an awesome 9th....the grab and then later, the call...a 4 out inning

i thought this fly on the bedroom wall video was funny for some reason

those highlights are all over for viewing...even Euck could see he was OUT

btw, congrats to Halliday for last week's gem:

...we miss you Roy

unless this guy habitually tapes him self watching tv in the bedroom (among other things, lol) i guess the guy thought he would do it as a keepsake when the hurler made it through the 8th inning

umps and refs make 'human' errors all the time and some have been bigger, such as the Buffalo Sabres not making it into the finals years ago over a screw up (that wasn't reversed)...this call didn't decide the game W L outcome but yes, the feat is very rare (20 in history?) ..with calls like this, it will continue to be rare even thought there have already been a midboggling 2 already this year....no hitters aint such a big deal anymore it seems...hitting for the cycle is still tough

anyhow, i tuned in when that catch was made for the first out...what drama

just let it be...overturning would be dumb...

ps)
love the kids making faces toward the end of the video (youtube= amazing)

The ump also deserves some praise for personally apologizing to Galarraga.

Perhaps baseball will expand its use of replay to cover this sort of situation in the future.

The only other time that I've been cheesed off recently because of what I felt was a wrong call by a baseball official was while I was watching a Texas Rangers ball game & Josh Hamilton was responsible for two more homeruns, only to have one of them taken away. They later, long after the game was over, reviewed the footage & came up with a compromise--while it was a run, it was not, in their infinate "wisdom" a homerun. A real bummer there.
