Default Tobermory + Bone Marrow Donor Drive fest clips

Tobermory - back in 2002 when Gord took ill, I drove a bit north of here to Tobermory (on Georgian Bay) and relaxed and shot some casual video clips to start and end each day, when the lighting is nicest

crystal clear water, many sunken ships, tug boats, etc, etc...it is a really a hint of the Maritimes but right in Ontario...you cannot see Christian Island with the naked eye (but if you look hard I think you can see Russia )

Grassroots Fest - there was a little local bone marrow donor drive and awareness that i stumbled on in the nieghbourhood so I grabbed a lawnchair and my old (it was rainy at times) videocam and put together a montage to give to the organizer and the performers as a keepsake...something for everyone, thought some here might want to sift through...I enjoyed the Debbie Bayshaw (who I believe jammed with our Cathy here, a few years back)

I enjoyed these the other day and e-mailed you..

The area up near Tobermory is a great dive spot if you're so inclined. If not so inclined then I'm sure gazing off in the distance to see Russia is just as enjoyable.
lol

so true.. i am not inclined that way, no siree, not into depths or heights really, lol

the tour boats have glass bottoms so you can see many of those sunken shipwrecks through that ever so clear water...when i swam way out in those bays, i actually didnt enjoy being able to see everything below me as it had me thinking of glaciers and land formations, not to mention LARGE fishies (ie. huge muskies and pike)...anyhow, i was ignorant to how hypothermia creeps up on you and got an earful when i got back to shore...it was a 30C Sept day but that water was just above freezin...i think Georgian Bay is that temp even in July...btw, there was a guy busking guitar tunes in Big Tub harbour, it made me think of RJ

regarding that little concert, the organizer told me that it was not to raise funds but awareness...later he told me it led to a record for the region with over 3000 folks enlisting in the bone marrow drive ...fyi. i missed most of that first group, the second gal performing was a Can Idol contestant (not sure how far she got), Deb Bayshaw is a seasoned gal from Ottawa area and a great conversationalist and supportive of everything that surrounds her, that EJ tribute guy was really something, he even had the tooth gap, the last band in the montage (there was another act but it got dark and cold quick and youtube limits vids to 10 mins) was headed by Gord Deppe from The Spoons...successful 80s band who have reunited...you will recognize him if you search some old videos, his hair was as big as the female bassists, lol

thanks for checking em out, guys...i was actually looking for other projects in the archives and came across those and many others, aint that always the way

good luck tonight Ron and friends..i would come and do in studio video but i think you guys already have your hands full (of nerves and giddiness )

hmmm, the Chi-Cheemaun ferry looks quite miniature compared to this boat!

says it is 5 times as big as the Titanic...

my niece is on the Oasis right now...I prefer paddle boats

those ships are massive.
the first cruise I went on was in through the Greek Islands and up to Istanbul, Turkey on a ship that held about 550 people. It was a great size-you always knew where you were, where your cabin was, how to get to where you were going. And it didn't take half a day to do it!
We didn't have a water park on deck or all those amenities but there was a lovely bar and small library, some on board shopping, lots of food and drink and we got to know a lot of the passengers. Another Caribbean cruise was on a ship just a bit bigger.
I love being on the water..might have to do a cruise again someday..
this link has info about the Oasis and a webcam -http://www.oasisoftheseas.com/
