Default Alan Parsons project co-founder died

Eric Woolfsen passed away recently due to cancer. I always assumed it was Alan Parsons who sang the vocals in that 1970-s 1980's band, but no, Eric did many of the vocals and keyboards too. That's him singing in "Eye in the sky" and "Time." He was 64.

That was kept under the radar, I never heard a thing about it. Thanks for posting this.

i think it was only under the radar for a day (he died this past week), sad

eric was under the radar for almost his whole career those projects were a large influence to what a group of us were were doing in that late 70s...used to have fun rearranging those uppity tracks and also high school folks liked hearing late night renditions of crooner ballads such as Time (very Pink Floyd-ish treatment by Parsons) ...there are only small clips of Eric laying on the net, wonderful writer and pianist, imo...i never heard their last few albums...those studio project type albums of theirs plus say, Klattu, Jarre and Oldfield, got a lot of listening at one time

My favourite album of theirs was made up of tunes that were based on stories by Edgar Allan Poe.

Yes that was "Tales of Mystery & Imagination." A great CD for for your collection. Other APP CDs are "Pyramid" and "I Robot." Good stuff!
Also the movie industry used APP for soundtracks, they did "Ladyhawke" back in the 1980's (it starred Matt Broderick & Michelle Pfeiffer).

I remember seeing Ladyhawke & thought it was a pretty good film. It was the first thing I recall seeing Matthew Broderick in after having seen Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Rutger Hauer was sharp as the knight too.

This was a shock to me..didn't even know he had been ill. My dad played Alan Parsons just as much as he did Gord Lightfoot when I was kid.. RIP.

I still own my copy of "Sirius" from 1982 with "Eye In The Sky" and have all the other hits too. Including the two of 1984 "Don't Answer Me" and "Prime Time",their last hits.

I never knew that he sang on the records, one naturally assumed it was Alan Parsons singing.

"Eye In The Sky" and the latter two mentioned were popular songs when I was in high school. I liked them a lot.
