Please list/link to any of your fave music videos
I'm not a big MTV or MMM or CMT video person (other than live performances) but I did really like the treatment and images on Gord's last one, Inspiration Lady
If you have any faves (current or from yesteryear) for recommending I thought it would be good to have a thread compiling a variety of links...I imagine most can be found at youtube or other video sites
I like this song and this video quite a lot...it's all a video really needs to be, imo

isn't that lovely? simple and easy and the music is gorgeous..i love that video.
I'm a big fan of his since seeing him in January at the LIghtfoot trib.show at Hugh's Room.
His name is jonathon and his middle name is after his grandfather-Royal.. I think that's what he told me..

Nice thread idea. It'll be interesting to see what crops up.

Re: Please list/link to any of your fave music videos
 heh heh
that guy breaks all the rules (including the 'no embedding' one!)
rm, i fold...ugh, yeah, that sure is maddening...depressing actually
i think Rea is singing about the 'dancer' in that Hunter S Thompson quote
imo, not a stunning video but there's a nice segment here of audio and video transitions, from :34 to 1:24 ....cut the cord

Loved all those. Nice dance music on the road to hell, haha.

OK I'll bite
I have many favoUrite musc videos that I could submit but for now I will settle for the one that never fails to please me for its vivacity
a superbly happy performance of the 1985 Bryan Adams hit that was a number one in 2002 for the lively and lovely young Dutch singer Dominique Van Hulst

Re: Please list/link to any of your fave music videos
john, nice looking gal...did she have an actual 'video' to support her #1 single? ...yeah, an Adams classic anthem...i didn't mean performance videos, but i wasn't very clear about what i meant obviously, lol....well ok then, photos slide shows and you fave youtube non-GL covers (we have a place for that) or live performance videos are welcome too
with that said, i'll add one (this is not what i meant by a 'produced video')... here's a guy who has multi-talent and i dig the arrangement...when you hear a pop tune played on trafitional instruments you can really tell a good melodic composition from the rest of the techno junk out there:
YouTube - Human - The Killers - Violin and Piano Cover
ok, it's a bit busy/muddy/raw/a bit out of tune, i love that

Re: Please list/link to any of your fave music videos
I love the Royal Wood video, jj. I like the song too - the singer has a cool voice.
This was my favorite from my teen years in the '80s when I was addicted to MTV. I watched enough videos to last me a lifetime. It was popular at the time - they even did a spoof about it on Family Guy.
Warning: Synthesizer alert!

Oh great. Not since geosteve's infamous "dot rules" have I been so confused about the boundaries.
Regardless, this one is sure to be universally loved :

Re: Please list/link to any of your fave music videos
i'm still in therapy for synch OD from the 80s so thanks for the heads up, formerly lavender!...nice big hair in that vid too
you've got the idea, patti ...to be frank (and jj too), i am a luke warm Beatles fan and not a fan of cartoon videos at all, i have no idea why both seem to be the case...and i do enjoy that classic The Wall film but minus all the cartoon stuff that so many would rave about ...keep em coming, folks
i was ignorant to the Williams extra curricular talents, very tasty... thanks for that, guys ...let's agree to refrain from posting any Shaq rap videos or Jiri Tlusty footage
ok, a video for a friday...most either hate or love remakes...there's nothing earth shattering about the video but a nice treatment suitable for the duet, imo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_35q...eature=related
one day (ok, it won't be in my lifetime) i'd like to hear a GL concert with all the steel and keyboard parts replaced with subtle fiddle arrangements...ok, and a few more live harmonies to add to the colouring

pam, i think this one may be even sadder...imo, a fine marriage of song and images here...the pure vocal and simple piano work nicely...the cello really sets the tone

Re: Please list/link to any of your fave music videos
hey jim, catch the tom russel GL anecdote that Sir john posted, fun...nice tune, btw...any broadcast videos out there?
patti/jessie, i guess the kalediscope(sp?) and time laspe images are impressive and have been around a while (even consumer level video cams will do that now)...feel free to drop a intro saying what impresses you about the video...where's the human element of the creativity? these seem to be lacking on the storyboard end of things but no one says a video needs to have one, i'm at a loss for what young folks and/or boomers are looking for when it comes to 'video' these days
here's one that is nice treatment wise and intros the public to Edwards 'edge' but it's a case where after hearing the song in advance, the video leaves me confused as to the message...it's all backwards and the song should be called 'Back to YOU' i suppose...anyhow, you can't go wrong whenever an old diner, motel or gas station is used as the backdrop btw, i think the male casting is weak here, imo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zo7HvUlrGe4
who is really missing from the video is her hubby, colin cripps...very talented, great stage presence and very cool

Curtural Circumference is a recent upload by mountainmystic9. The videos are for meditation and sound healing.
I don't always comment when I post a video because I know that each person has a different take on it. I just wanted to share something good.
