Yusuf Islam or Cat Stevens
I just saw him on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. I can't wait to get his new album, Roadsinger.
I recorded his performance. I'm watching him again right now.
He's always been one of my favorites.

Re: Yusuf Islam or Cat Stevens
Yusuf/Cat is very cool...An Other Cup was a great album. Saw him on Chris Issak show and Gunnar Nelson was playing backup. McCartney and Dolly Parton sing on the new album. I've always sid that Don Quixote could be a Cat Stevens song and some of his could be Gord's. Never heard them comment on each other.

Re: Yusuf Islam or Cat Stevens
i saw him the other night on leno and immediately thought 'someone needs to get a quality version of this on youtube'
wonderful mix...his voice hasn't changed a bit (neither has james taylor's)
click on the HQ option for best sound:
YouTube - Yusuf - "Roadsinger" on Leno 5/13/09 (TheAudioPerv.com)
char, those links don't work in canada, eh? lol
one of the most superb DVDs i own 'audio and interview-wise' is Cat's...the live concert is crisp and the BBC studio extras are A1
i agree with you, Bill...btw, weren't gord and cat put on the homeland security high alert list at one point?

Re: Yusuf Islam or Cat Stevens
ahh, i am biased i suppose but the problem with the colbert viewing is there is a piano void, unlike the leno appearance
wish heffernan was playing a real piano in gord live arrangements

here's a clip from the DVD interviews i mentioned earlier...the 2:15 mark is where he comments on his 'calling'...my phone has not yet rung, perhaps it's off the hook

You HAVE to be kidding! Our Gordon on Homeland Security's High Alert list? Cat Stevens, maybe I could understand, and even that I don't really understand. But seriously...Gordon Lightfoot on the High Alert list. What on earth could he have done to have been put there?

After reading it, I think I see what you mean.
