Default Itchy for new guitar!

Talk me down! I got three little kids; can't afford another guitar! But having played classical and steel string, I've been drawn to a new breed of hybrid guitars that have nylon strings, longer/narrower necks, and cutaway bodies with great pickups. Several brands out there now. Geez, once a guitar junky -- always a guitar junkie.

When it comes to guitars, I'm not gonna talk Bill out of anything (if he promises to show some more of his work using the new guitar)

check it out......

Now that's fantastic. That would be great driving music on a long country highway. Thanks for posting this for all of us to see.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm on sabbatical this semester...with a decades-long backlog of material. Got a Mac with recording software (courtesy of the college I teach for) -- hoping to record quite a bit. Of course, after that I have no idea what to do!

New guitars inspire me. But alas, tough economic times mean a new one will have to wait.

Dang it. Will you you be attending a "Tea Party" ?

Just kidding.....geez, you're so modest.

Looking forward to more of your music....

bill, so glad rm gave us this link...are there full length version available? audio aside, that is very tasty lighting

are you using any tools beyond garageband and imovie? (i use peak and final cut on the g5 even though it's overkill for my limited purposes)

btw, did you see the film 'the Visitor'? jenkins is quite good

...get on with that backlog, then please share with us all

Got a Macbook Pro with Soundtrack Pro, and Logic Pro (all overkill for single guitar work)...Neumann microphone coming in through a Blue Ice icicle XLR to USB converter. For video we use Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, and After Effects...although for youtube I used Avid and did a multi-camera edit. Apple Compressor for sqeezing it down. Panasonic P2 HD camera. For a poor professor I get to play with a lot of nice toys.
Guitar is a custom Mossman walnut called The Badlands I built back in 1993 while apprenticing during a documentary project about guitar builders.
I'll record a bunch and then figure out marketing later!

Hi Bill,
Check this out. These are beautiful guitars (sorry to be talking you into it instead of out of it) - Bill Hall

hi BillH
lovely stuff...love cutaways..i have one but really for no good reason as i never get up there on the neck but it's nice to know i can if i develop some sort of noodling skills during retirement or whenever

not to 'Somalian pirate' this thread but has anyone ever played with capo beyond 9th fret? i love this gal and wonder if she was know in the USA at all?: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JpZN2...eature=related

BillC, i love my Blue Snowball mic and that usb connection...i good friend helped me obtain it as i couldnt find it available in Canada at all years ago...i learned on Avid but couldnt afford to bring it home at the time and there was no 'Express version' then so i went with Final Cut and am stalled at v4.5 which is sufficient and i do no HD at this point...i have a Panasonic dvx100 (now a dinosaur to most i've got years of use left out of it, no HD for me just yet) as i like to toy with that 24 fps setting...i need to look into that Apple Compressor as up til now, web delivery hasn't been my thing but it certainly is a practical and your clips make me realize how hi quality they came be! cheers, I've appreciated your feedback
