Default Daytime Drama Turning Out The Light

I just came from CNN.com and read that "The Guiding Light",the media's longest runnign drmam of any kind,is going off the air on Sept. 18th this year.

The show has been on for 72 years, starting on readio in 1937 as a 15 min. show.

Now I never watched it but recall the opening credits vividly. I didn't even know it was still on. Viewership is down, which is why it's saying farewell. Quite the milestone

I remember my mom always watching that soap opera It's an oldie, that's for sure.
I am not a daytime tv watcher so I won't miss it but I am sure a lot of people will.

I've never watched daytime soaps, but I think now that they are getting close to ending the show, it might be interesting.
