That first kid can't carry a tune in a paper bag.
The two guys aren't bad.

Re: These are a little different !
lol ! Cathy, the guitars sound good in the second one, but to me it's like there's a guitar player missing ?

Re: These are a little different !
It seems to me I hear someone strumming a 12 string, yet both players are using 6 strings. Can you hear it?

Re: These are a little different !
Crazy as this sounds, I think the fingerpicker's high e is strung an octave high. In any case, the guitars have a very bright tone.

Re: These are a little different !
Yup. I thought of that. Like a high string guitar.

Re: These are a little different !
Right, but in this case I think it's just the high e. Because at the very beginning of the tune the fingerpicker plays in a range that sounds consistent with an ordinary guitar on the lower strings.

Re: These are a little different !
I wouldn't dare to tune the E up an octave. I'd be afraid it would warp the neck.

Re: These are a little different !
well, it's just a matter of selecting the right gauge. You wouldn't want to try it with an .11 for example. But I was thinking you could do it with a banjo string, maybe the high g drone of a 5-string banjo for instance. But you're right, you have to be careful with that kind of thing. I always get a little nervous when I retune to play some open-tuned song, although I find injuries to the neck to not be the problem so much as destroying brand new strings by too much tensioning.
