Default Cyd Charisse : Farewell at 86.

It was just on my local news that Cyd passed away last night.

I know a great deal or all of us here saw her in a number of musicals where she showed off her incredible dacing skills. Most notably "Singing In The Rain" & "It's Always Fair Weather",with the great Gene Kelly.

I also recall one of the last times I saw her in something music related. She had a brief but memorable cameo appearence in Janet Jackson's "Alright" video from 1990. Which also featured greats like Cab Calloway & the Nicholas Brothers.

Rest in peace to another of the wonderful performers of the Golden Age of Hollywood.

Okay Borderstone...just to make you feel better I will post and tell you that I do know who Cyd Charisse is...lol.
My dad had a crush on her so he always watched her movies...loved anything with her in it.

I don't think my mom liked her that much though...

She was remarkable and I wish her peace on the other side of life.

Thnaks Nightengale. If you ever watch "Singin' in the Rain" she's the woman who pretty much seduces Gene Kelly in a very well staged dance number. I'm sure your dad could point her out.

Yes, I know which one she is

"I'm sure your dad could point her out"

He passed away a year and a half ago.
He also had a thing for Joey Heatherton...do you know who she is?
Very cute and talented blonde girl. I think she is still alive but not really sure.

Actually "Night" when I said "could" , it was a word I chose just in case of what you just told me about your father. I didn't want to be in error.

Yes,I recall Joey Heatherton. I've never seen anything big she was in but she did make a guest appearence on a later episode of Laverne & Shirley that I saw,I believe in 1981.

She'll be 64 in Sep.

I understand Borderstone. "Could" was a good choice.

Wow, Joey Heatherton is only going to be 64? I thought she would be older than that...lol.
I think she was mostly on hourly entertainment shows if I remember correctly. Johnny Carson and different variety shows, that sort of thing.

Laverne & Shirley...now that brings back some good memories...lol. Good show
