04/22/08 : Glen Campbell is having his 72nd birthday today! !

A great salute to him on his birthday and a thank you for making unforgettable classic country music like Southern nights,Galveston,By The Time I Get To Phoenix,Rhistone Cowboy and doing a great cover version of "The Last Time I Saw Her".

Already "72," That was my favourite singer before discovering Gordon Lightfoot... Time flys by quickly, I knew he was a little bit older than Gordie. Thanks for sharing this Borderstone.

Same here J-Joe. The one glaring omission from Borderstone's list of Campbell's hits is "Gentle On My Mind" (still my all time favorite), written by John Hartford. This was the song that opened the door to fame for GC.

In an effort to join the YouTube crowd, here is a Hartford performance of that song. It offers a glimpse into both his amazing musicianship and his eccentric character.
