Re: discussion forum error reports
Florian, I love the new look. It's great!
But there is one teeny error ... it says I last visited on '01.01.1970'. hmmm ... I could have sworn I was here since there ...

Whew.....you folks too. For a minute there I was ready to quit imbibing, due to my last visit date. It will take a little getting used to, but I especially like the "go to last post" option, which saves a lot of scrolling.

Re: discussion forum error reports
OK I've gotta chime in here too ! Nice changes Florian, thanks again for keeping this website up & running. It is appreciated very much. I think that "last visited" counter updates after you've signed in once under the new format.

Re: discussion forum error reports
I also noticed in revisiting an older thread that there were numerous multiple postings of identical posts.
I hereby publicly declare that I am in no way associated with "asian black porn video".

Re: discussion forum error reports
I KNOW for a fact that I have been here since 31.12.1969!!
Lots of nice new features to explore. Pity it happenned the very same day my Internet Exploder and Windows Live hotmail decided to play silly buggers too. Now I am having great difficulty knowing if I am going or coming. But i am inordinately pleased to see that I am already a senior member, obviously in recognition that i have had a few senior moments

Oops Florian error report number 1 I first tried the "quick reply" version but have to ask what happenned to the most useful Preview facility, it is not available in "quick reply" only here in the advanced version.I rely on using that to pick up my many typos so for me the quick reply is patently useless
I also miss the Instant UBB crib section at the bottom did you leave that out on purpose??
i see "manage attachments"
OK OK Later the new attachments system is explained on Florian's announcement at:-
http://www.corfid.com/vbb/announcement.php?f=3
Also note that you have until October 1 to save any Private Messages you might like to retain on your hard drive.Just open a new folder somewhere then with any messages you wish to keep open in them inyour browser then simply "save as a web page" (in Internet Exploder anyway) in your new folder.
Error 2
Florian you seem to have resurrected a few very old topics was that deliberate ?
Later No not resurrected just a most useful addition whereby the forum lists other topics with a related subjct title to demonstrate this search for "Carefree Highway" (Leave the search option at the new limitation default "show threads" not "show posts"
You will get a list as before of topics containing your search term or words
then pick any one and open it then scroll down to see a listing of related topics
Bravo Florian Nice as Borat said
and
Error 3
on most old topics most of the replies are duplicated as Ron found see above
Later I really cannot think of a logical or illogical reason for this aberation.. Florian???
As Sean Connery /James Bond would say
"Shurely shome mishtake"?
Now for a little constructive criticism whch I will label
Suggestion number 1 I had got used under the old system in setting my profile to never show a signature, now it looks like I'll have to remember to uncheck the box on every posting which will be a pain in the you know where as will the apparent necessity to change the "no email notification" to "daily email notification" each and every time could not these two options be permanently set from ones own profile? I usually checked the notification box on the old system but often forgot I then had to go back and edit, another pain in the same place!!

Re: discussion forum error reports
Hi gang,
I have discovered that when logging in, the new system wants the displayed user name and not the original login name if that has been changed. For example, I originally joined with "djb" as my login and display name, then over time my display name became "David in Sweden" and lately "DJ in MJ" (my initials plus the city I live in), but "djb" and my password still remaining as my login method. So now the new board wants my login to be just "DJ in MJ", with "djb" no longer existing. Suits me fine but it took awhile to figure it out.
Hope you followed that!

Mende for reasons best known to Florian his new set up seems to be fixated on GMT which is also broadly speaking
UT Universal Time which that li nked wiki elaborates on as:-
"In 1928 the term Universal Time was adopted internationally as a more precise term than Greenwich Mean Time, because the GMT could refer to either an astronomical day starting at noon or a civil day starting at midnight. However, the term Greenwich Mean Time persists in common usage to this day in reference to civil timekeeping"
having endured the effects of your local time recently I can see the problems associated with standiing on ones head
 I
which is inevitably going to disorientate you and unfortunarely you must suffer since for the world at large and native born Brits in particular
GMT/UTmakes perfect sense.
As to what you can do about it I can only logically suggest that you MOVE
to somewhere that is 0 degrees which I realise does not give you much choice

How does Nigeria sound??
I have it on good authority that there are many unclaimed bank accounts there and/or illicitly secreted profits all there for the grabbing, all you need is a bank account and a large dollop of gullibiity!!!

Hey Joveski,
I actually did set my time, here's how I did it:
When you log in you should see in the upper left corner , User CP, click on it, it will open the page then look at the upper left corner of that page you should see:
Control Panel:
Settings & Options
Edit Signature
Edit Email & Password
Edit Profile
Edit Options
Click on Edit Options then scroll down that page where you will see many different options to change to your liking, including: Date and Time Options...
After you have finish doing your changes, dont forget to scroll down bottom of page and click, Save Changes...
It work for me, I set it to Atlantic Canada.
Good Luck !

Re: discussion forum feedback
Florian. I think that, given time, I'll eventually get the hang of things with the new set up & all. And I also noted the last time that I was supposed to have posted, saying that it was December 31 of 1968. Well, I didn't think I'd been posting here since the tender age of seven, but that's no big thing. Anyway, wish me luck in adjusting to the new look!

Re: discussion forum feedback
Doug, it just doesn't save your chosen color. I would assume that you are going to have to continue to change it every time you log back on.
Hi David, hope all is going well for you in the Moose.

Life is great here, Brink. Hope all is well with you too.
I've been pretty busy on fri and sat evenings, thus I haven't been around for chat. But I think of y'all frequently!

Re: discussion forum feedback
Well, as far as I can tell, I just might actually like this format better than the original. I just need to start using my head for something besides a hatrack, as I'm still making a few boo-boo's ever so often. I was never very tech savvy anyway.

Re: discussion forum feedback
Florian,
I've encountered something kind of weird. A lot of my old posts and threads are falsely attributed to another user called RaisinSpores! For an example, take a look at this old thread: http://www.corfid.com/vbb/showthread...er-songwriters
It says that RaisinSpores started this thread--in reality, I started the thread--and all of my posts were automatically duplicated and attributed to RaisinSpores, as you can see. I guess it's not too big a deal, but it's kind of odd. Thanks.
