I have a new HP PSC four in one Printer/Scanner/Copier/fax machine won at a bargain price on ebay .It is used but in great condition it came sans software but the same
drivers and program I have installed for my previous HP printer work a treat thankfully.
I initially printed several test pages correctly then for no apparent reason (as computer items tend to do) it started playing up.Printing a single page is now taking many minutes.Naturally I googled, eventually for :-
"hp psc 2410Xi printing slowly troubleshooting"
and was delighted to find a page headed
"HP PSC 2210 'check cartridge' error"
above that it said
fixyourownprinter.com
as the page is http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/inkjet/26232
whilst the page held nothing to help me directly at the very top was this:-

which links to a potentially useful "jokes" toolbar!!!
Oh well after a good giggle it's back to the googling for a solution of my printer problem

I have a printer problem! Last week during a particularly hectic afternoon, paper jammed in my printer and I eventually lost it and tugged it free. Since then the printer refuses to print. No light comes on and it appears to be dead.
Could I have blown a fuse or something when tugging out the jammed paper ? Any computer buff out there wanna offer some helpful suggestion/advice, please? I am growing desperate and my nerves are in tatters ... aarrrgh!

oh dear. sounds like you killed it..is it under warranty?
I had a problem with my 10 month old CANON printer/scanner/copier a few weeks ago-the paper wouldn't feed. So I called their HELP desk to see if someone could talk me thru a quick fix..
Instead they had me FAX my bill and sent me a new/better model! I sent the old one back in the same box/delivery paid by CANON !
wowza-I'm still amazed!

Unlike you, Char-baby, the stars are not shining on me right now. Dumping on me, yes, but not shining brightly. :D Sadly, my printer is NOT still under warranty so I guess it looks like I now need a new one? *sigh*

Yep - get a new one - it will cost more or as much to fix the old one. They're relatively cheap over here.. I think this one retails for around $140.00 new..and it's a 3 in one..good for home use.

Mine is HP and I've had it for 8 years and it has never given me any big probs - until now. And this is probably my fault.

Check what is most compatible with your computer. Ask at your local store.

As I said in my first line
I now have a 4 in 1 a 3 in 1 is more common hence PSC for Printer/Scanner/Copier/.
this time on ebay I specifically looked for a 4 in 1 which has fax capability added and won an auction for an HP PSC 2410xi
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN:IT&ih=001

it not only has the fax built in but a super popup window that tells you (in English and possibly in French too J-J) what it is doing and allows previews of digital pix on a memory card and will print out a proof sheet of all the pix

A bargain at US$61.00 plus shipping and handling plus 7% New Jersey sales tax as the seller was 40 miles away in NJ.
After my ranting yesterday it seems the printing speed has returned to normal!
Printers don't you just love 'em??
Now for a change try this one:-

Oh that's better!!!
So I know this does not help our blonde Brit friend in her dilemma but replaces my previous recommendations to Jessie-Joe
