I don't know if this has been tried before. I was thinking of a variation of the "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon" trivia game from a while back. Here's a link to an explanation of the premise :
Wikipedia
So, pick any musician and see if you can link him to Lightfoot. The more obscure the connection the better.
Here's an easy one to try :
Jackson Browne....

Doug,
There you go....thank you.
The 2 steps I had was via drummer Jim Gordon (who is virtually an endless list of connections).
1. Jackson Browne performed with Jim Gordon
2. Jim Gordon recorded with Lightfoot
I like your connection much better.
So toss a name out, if it should please you.

I got one! On a 1970's commercial for the "Sundown" LP they play the song "Carefree Highway" but show the road that actually goes through Monument Valley!
In the movie "Forrest Gump"; Forrest when running all over the place, ends up running down this same road to the Jackson Browne song,"Running On Empty". :D
How's that?

interesting stuff
I recall Gordon being honoured as member of Barbershop Harmony Society, which Truman very likely also belonged to
did Terry Whelan sing with Margaret Truman at some point?

Doug,
Holy smokes ! I thought for sure the Barbershop connection would be in there somewhere.
This is much more research intensive than I imagined when I brought up the idea. Is there a web site that does the leg work for you ?

Both of them recorded a CD (and or cassette) in 1998.
In 1998 Gord had,"A Painter Passing Through".
(I logically assume there was a cassette too.)
At the very end of that year Spears finished the gosh awful "...Baby,One More Time".
(Released to stores in Jan. of '99 though).

Hey Brink,I'm not "exactly" a trivia nut,my brain just soaks these things in without any effort.
That's why I can remember things back to 1971 (age 3)! Like I remember seeing "Laugh In" while it was still on NBC ('71-'72 season).

Hey, it seemed appropriate to post this here. When I told my 21-yr.-old son that Walter was going to see Gordon in Phoenix Sunday night, all he said to that was,"Larry, The Cable Guy is playing at the DECC in four days". LOL

That's the young'ns for ya!! :D
My God-daughter would rather go see a group called "My Chemical Romance" (who recently had a #9 hit with,"The Black Parade") than even try to hear Gordon!
I'm always joking with her,"Do your homework or I'll make you listen to a Lightfoot song!" LOL! She screeches but we both know were just messin' around.
