Green, white, wheen, or grite?

Ok now, Xmas here was half-white and half-green, as there is a thin layer of snow on the ground but you can still see a reasonable amount of grass. It also snowed for about 15 minutes today, so just a few extra flakes came down.

So did I have a green or white Christmas????

i had a white one in australia... i cold blast from the south brought winds and showers and at times in the morning, the grass was covered in hail. some of the nearby mountains had snow as well

All green in central New York, also unusual but this whole season has been extraordinarily mild (thank you El Nino?) We *may* get snow today but right now it's 33 and raining - yech.

This time of year it's hit and miss. Snow can come anytime from 1st November to New Year. It can also be quite mild, as it is now, or so BFC (bloody darn cold) that the water freezes.

My first Xmas in Sweden was mild and green, and I thought, "oh, this is easy enough". The next one had snow and temps of -25 to -30C.

And yes, the water froze.

Talk about a reality kick.

Green and white? - light green? Sounds like "mint" to me. Brown, bleak, damp and overcast here in Mississauga, south of Toronto.

I'm an Orillia boy, so I know all about brown and bleak winters in Toronto! I've experienced many of them first-hand. Last Friday, I talked with my mother, who still lives in Orillia, and she said there was no sign of snow there either.

Then what has taken you to Sweden, and more importantly, how is your health progressing?

When in Orillia, did you go to worship at "the house of Gord?" at 238 Harvey Street, Gord's childhood home? LOL!

I came here because I met a swedish woman and I have also been working in the IT industry here for the past seven years.

Harvey St. is about a 20 minute walk from my childhood home. My mother still lives there.

Sorry, I forgot this bit when I answered above. I more or less have been given a clean bill of health, though I'm told I will have nausea and headaches, perhaps for a few months as after-effects. The energy level is picking up a bit every week, and I go back to work half-time in January. It's frustrating to feel uncomfortable all the time, but it's much better than the alternative. I'm very thankful for the turn of events, and to so many people I can't begin to name them all. And I count my blessings for the chance to have renewed health.

Thought perhaps you didn't wish to speak about personal matters. Glad to hear that you are progressing so quickly.

I spent my first Christmas with wheels strapped to my ass. Constantly afraid that I would snag the Christmas tree on my wheelchair and take it for a ride around the room.

Met with my neurosurgeon who told me that I would'nt walk again and proceded to move my legs in and out at the knees and raise my foot off the support. The look on his face was worth the appointment alone! Some days better than others but keep fighting the fight. Yes, I agree, much better than the alternative, which in my case would have been death.

Beyond any doubt, this Lightfoot group is fantastic in its prayers and support.

My thoughts are with you, Yuri. You're a fighter and obviously you have a great attitude and have kept your sense of humour. And yes, the outpouring of support from this gang of Lightheads was truly inspiring and heart-warming.

And while you may have been truly worried about that first Xmas and the tree, you have to admit it'd make a great Monty Python sketch!
