I am just curious how everyone feels about Lightfoot ebay items being linked here at corfid? Let me preface this by saying that I consider myself a dear friend of yours, Sir John and this is not a personal attack on your good and generous ways.
But...and there is always a but
, seems to me that ebay is a pretty well known place to scope out Lightfoot stuff if one is truly searching for that elusive item and does not need advertising. I understand that you are alerting fellow fans of rarities and one of kinds, John. However if someone in this group has discovered it on their own and has already placed bid...then by posting a link to said item is inviting competition, a bidding war and eventual price inflation among friends who might not have been part of the auction otherwise. Consider the situation...how many of us share that we have found that elusive item and are currently bidding on it? That would be bid suicide and the only one who benefits from that is the seller.
Just a thought and wanted to put it out there incase anyone else feels that way I do. I would be happy to be proved to be in the minority and apologize for bringing this up.
And again, I mean no harm to your exuberance of sharing "all things Lightfoot" John. Love ya!
