Does this ever happen to anyone else?
I'll go to the Gen. disc.,check out some random topic, and when I try to go back to the G.D. board,it goes back 3or4 days ago or even a week before. Then I have to go all the way back to the main site beginning and start over to get back to the present day.Just wondered if anyone else has this happen???

Yes ! Exactly. But I usually click on 'forum home' and start from there again.

It has happened to me lots (but only in the last few weeks Iron), but BILLW's remedy immediately above definitley works - sometimes I'm just not thinkin' hard enough to remember to do it..

Iron, when you first click onto Discussion Forum and the three choices on the next page appear (Gen. Disc., Small Talk, Test Forum), you'll immediately see whether there are any newly- remarked upon topics in them if the lightbulbs next to them are yellow (lit up). If they are yellow, that means since the last time you visited that forum, a new post has been made (not a new topic thread, merely a new post). Then, when you click on say, General Discussion, you will see a list of file folders. The ones in yellow are where a new post has been made since you last were on. (Even if it's the post *you* yourself made previously.) All of the newest posted-to topics are on the top of the list. Therefore, if you are randomly selecting topics which do not have yellow file folder icons next to them, it is true that perhaps that topic hasn't been added to for a day, a few days, or even a week or more. That is why you find yourself "in the past," so to speak. While anyone can bring up any old topic thread and add to it, unless a topic has had a post made to it that day, the file folder icon next to it will not be yellow, and that is your first clue that there is nothing new posted to that thread since last you visited it.

Sheryl,
What we are describing is not a matter of the dates on the topics although your input is always appreciated. This 'anomaly' occurs when you try to go back to the GD or ST list of topics and instead of the current topics being on the top, as normal, you find yourself way down the list with no chance to just scroll back to the top. It is as the most current topics have gone away. I'm trying to duplicate it so I can report it exactly to Florian but at this point it appears to be rather random. But rest assured that it is not 'user error' in this case. Or even newbie syndrome. Thanks.

If you go into "my profile" and then choose to edit your profile, you'll find a choice some ways down of how you want the topics displayed (2 days, 5 days, all eternity etc...). Just pick what you want and save.
