Nice pic John! Simon & Garfunkel were or are supposd to play here in Phoenix but I've been so busy,I don't know if they've been here yet or not. I'll have to check they're tour schedule I guess.

I've liked those guys for a long time. I have all their LP's except "Wed. Morning 3 AM" and also I have "Best Of Art Garfunkel" and all of Simon's except "Rhythm of The Saints & other current CD's.

They even had the top song in America the day I was born. That being "Mrs. Robinson" from June of '68. Thanks for posting this John,good work.

I've got 'em too. Never saw them live, but it seems so. As with all tours by folks at their level, too much $.

Paul Simon's recent albums are just as fine as ever - and clever. Worth the purchase.

I did see Paul Simon solo (w/ about 20 others on stage and all kinds of percussion. He did stuff from Graceland, Saints, and prior heavy-on-the-percussion tunes (Late in the Evening, Me & julio, etc.)

After the series of encore's, the lights stayed down. He came back, w/ only guitar, and did another hour of gentle S&G tunes alone. Serenade.

Just a few short yrs ago The Everly Bros. played the Orange County Fair. Free w/ admission kinda thing. Sit on the grass.

S&G, the E Bros - ah, the blend. The Kingston Trio (w/ John Stewart) could achieve that blend (3 as 1) Other than going back to the Ink Spots and Southern Gospel, such things are rarely heard.

Speaking of the duo....Anne Bancroft,who played the namesake of their 1968 #1 hit Mrs. Robinson,passed on about 3 days ago or so.

Quite ironic that she passed away exactly 37 years to the week that the song hit the top of the charts! Very big coincidence.

The song was also #1 the day I was born.

Well,here's to you Anne,you did a heck of a job playing Mrs R. ! Rest in Peace.

Thanks for the link...enjoyed the read. I was in grade school the first time I heard Simon & Garfunkel, and fell in love with their lyrics and their sound. For the first time in our lives, I believe, my older brother and I found something we agreed on...music has kept us connected ever since.

One of my favorite S&G lines:
"She said the man in the gabardine suit was a spy.
I said be careful his bowtie is really a camera..."

John, I don't know how much you paid for your tickets to see The Eves' (how could I?) I have recently purchased 2 tickets to see them in Bournemouth on Nov 27th at a cost of £110.00 I know these guys are legends, but..........

sounds cheap Jimbo I have just received an emagazine from the Dutchman in charge of the Everly Brothers International

and apparently the Hammersmith Apollo(ex-Odeon) tix are going for a mere Euros 97.50 for each ticket!!!
I really cannot be expected to remember after 12 years how much the 1993 tix were but as I do have the souvenir brochure here
so I can tell you that in the list of Official Merchandise listed at the back and sold from a Bournemouth address I note the
following for comparison with today's prices:-

anyway Jim do enjoy the show regardless as should anybody going to Cerritos or the Orleans (both fine venues)
