I hope this doesn't come across as maudalin but in glancing through the newest editon of Billboard Book Of Top 40 hits (8th Edition),I've discovered that some artists have passed on that I wasn't aware of.
While not as big as others, they still count as memories for someone.

Early 1960's female singer Timi Yuro passed on late last year at age 63. She sang the song "Hurt" in 1961,I think that song was later done by Elvis.

Meri Wilson (no relation to Brian) who sang the amusing 1977 hit,"Telephone Man" was killed in a car crash in 2002.

Edmund Sylvers (one of the elder siblings in the Disco group The Sylvers:"Boogie Fever","Hot Line") died recently of lung cancer at age 47.

Randy Vanwarmer who in 1979 sang the David Gates-like,"Just When I Needed You Most",died of Leukemia just a few short months ago. I've always liked that song.

...and Johnny Bristol who had the 1974 hit "Hang On In There Baby" and was a writer and producer also passed on less than a year ago.

Sorry if I'm not exact in information,I haven't actually bought the book yet but i went to the bookstore Sunday aft. for a preview. Bills come first.

I remember Vanwarmer! And yes, I enjoyed that song very much too.
