Musician's out there???

I am a professional musician, writer, guitarist and recording artist. Are there any more folks out there, besides Cathy C., who would post there original music for all of us to hear? There are posts as to who else we listen to, but I don't think any of us have posted our own material.
Any thoughts???

Sean, Like LSH, I'm not a performer, but I think that's a great idea. I've always loved listening to some of these guys in jam sessions in one state or another (or one country or another) and I've enjoyed hearing some of them in guitar chat, but there are many who I know play that I haven't had the pleasure of hearing.

Hi Sean! Glad to see you back!

Well,I myself am quite a good lyricist,although I've never sold a song (definetly for a lack of trying) I know they're quite good because I wrote 80 or so of them over a 2 year period and a number of them are on a very deep personal level.

I have never had the time to really learn an instrument. I took piano for a few months as a kid but we moved and I never did return to it. I think I could play if I could find the time and the $ for lessons. I was also in 4 high school talent shows. 3 singing,one lip-synching to Billy Joel's,"Tell Her About It". Dressed like he was in the video!

I posted one of my poems up here once but have been hesitant to post more because,again,I know they're good and I want to save them either for my own career or give them to someone that can flesh them out musically. (They are also not copywrighted.)
In all though,I have nearly 150. If you'd like to help an aspiring writer/singer from the ground level,I'm willing to learn! No joke. Just E-Mail me with a reply,I'd appreciate it.

Okay - here it is: go to a search engine, write in sean robert ramuno, and some sites should come up. I think "CD Baby" and "Tower" records have a few of my song bytes, and probably only one of my CD's.
I wrote all the songs, played lead guitar and sang. But listen to my bandmates - they have the real talent!

P.S. Thanks to you all! Borderstone, go to The Library of Congress.gov, and you should find copywrite forms. The least expensive way to forever protect your writings, is to put 30, or more, on one forme for one price labeling it "the first collected works of..."

After I have them copywrited (thanks for the spelling!)I hope to somehow get back to the piano or maybe some other instrument. Maybe,if he has time,my oldest brother who's a guitarist in Tempe can show me how to play that. I never have asked him. Been me. Later!

Hey, B, once a song, or anything else, is in a fixed form (written down, audiotaped etc.) it is considered copyrighted. I think what you are referring to is 'registered'. Here's a link for you, and everybody else interested, on the difference and what to do when you want to protect your work:

Hello! Several of us have expressed a desire to post either poetry, or music that we have created! Excellent!!! But, I put my info out there for you all, and no one else has. Let's post our own creativity so we can all enjoy the genius of our work! When you think that you, alone, created a piece of art, THAT is the gift from GOD!!!
So, will anyone post their material? Believe me, when it comes form your own mind, there is NO bad creativity! So, do not be afraid, or too humble. I look forward to hearing and reading all of the fine works from my friends!!!

Well Sean,I don't mean to sound (and I know you didn't say this) like I only want to be a songwriter or singer just for the $$$. I guess I'm just protective of what I've written because if someone had more success with it than me,without my consent,I'd be a little upset. To say the least.

I've always wondered how Gord can come up with a new tune and new lyrics. I know how to change old lyrics, but the art of singing & songwriting is a true gift.

Borderstone, not at all what I meant. II have copywrited all my material since I was in high school, just because I wrote it, and there are too many dishonest people that will rip off a lyric. Sorry if it sounded otherwise!

FAB! Excellent, both of you. I have been witing since I was 15, 0r 16. I sold my first song the weekend out of high school, now a million memories away. But, all of my writing has been in conjunction with music, so I have never written down my lyrics as peotry. Does that make sense? Anyway, if you want to hear my music, that includes the lyrics (and until I get a bit smarter like John to put up some sound bytes) you can got to Tower Records, or CD Baby, or a search engine and put in sean robert ramuno. Maybe someone can help me put up music, as you may only find one CD, and I have released several.

I'm the resident drummer here... I have a 2003 Pearl Forum Set with a 18" Sabian AA Crash Cymbal, hoping to get a Sabian Ride before the end of the year is out.

Don't have any of my own stuff per se obviously but I have created my own riffs from constantly noodling on the drumset.

When I get a bit more flush with cash, I'm gonna get a tape recorder and a proper microphone and record myself into the PC... a regular PC mic doesn't work as I found. I was kinda shocked how my Sabian cymbal sounds awfully close to Barry's plus I use a Pearl Snare like he does.

Thanks for the great compliment! I have asked John Fowles how to put up songs. I am afraid I have no clue. The CD with only four tracks to listen to, has been an award winner for me and has been featured in International music conferences, especially in Germany and Cannes, France.
When I learn how to do this, the great songs are yet to be heard. Why the record company picked those four is beyond me! There is a "Gord" song called, "The One I Waited For" that I like - hard for me to listen to my finished material, but that's just me.

Stars reflect into my eyes,as I step out into the after hours again.

Cool breezes make the night air,wake up all of my sleeping senses,
while I skip the cracks in the sidewalk and go knocking on wood fences.

Thoughts repeat as I move alongas if they say,"which way to go?"
I thought I could get away from it all,but I can't,how well I know.
It just may be,that I can't see,that I wont let some old things pass.
So I try to look for new beginnings,in the hours that darkness lasts.

Night walk,sidewalks,side streets and avenues,walking in rhythm,taking my time and feeling in blue.
Nightwalk,crosswalks,cubed curbs and the boulevards blaze,
from the neon lights that find you when the world's gone away.
Night walk,like you're the only one existing from night to day.

Traffic lights shine my face,with the colors of the lkarma C!
All of the signsare there to say that this could be a prophecy!Sirens scream into my bain and sound the horns throughout my mind!
Do I really feel this strain and stress? Does anybody really know the time?

Rain returns onto the streets,so I turn back for home and now it's late.
The same thoughts keep repeating but I guess it'll just have to wait.
When again I feel like being alone,when no one's got the time to talk,
I'll steal away into the dark,so i can take another late night walk...walk...walk...walk...walk. (Also 1996)

Boderstone, that one really painted a picture for me! That is what great poetry is all about! Unlike sory writers, we have to tell the entire storyline, including painting the picture for the reader, in only a few short verses. Writing songs that are "radio friendly" is even more restricting, as there is traditionally a 3 - 4 minute length allowed. That means the lyric portion get even smaller as you add musical intros/middles/outros. Listen to a Gord song, other than CRRT, and you will see what I mean.

Yes,I know all about radio friendly edits & dubs. Some of my very simplest lyrics are that way,onpurpose. On the other hand,I have a song that's 6 or seven verses and no chourus! (Naturally I didn't post it! )
