He said NON GL songs, Char. Geez, woman, pay attention! (lol)

Hi Frank,
This is an easy question. Outside of Gord, my favorite singer is Eric Clapton.
My favorite album of his is Journeyman. Great guitar work- hense his nickname, "Slowhand". There are so many great songs on that album but I can narrow down my 2 favorite songs and they are "Pretending" and "Bad Love". You being from over the pond should be familiar with him. Probably not your type of music, but hey . . .

Char,
Thats incredibly funny...!LOL.
Fave non GL songs. Turn it around you have
non fave GL songs.
I'll take the blame,but there's been a misunderstanding!
What I meant was favourite songs or albums by artists other than Gord.
(As in a non Gord topic).
This is so funny...because fave non could be used as a French/English saying meaning non favourite.
Thats why I understand.

I'm still laughing......

LOL Frank.

When it is time for the world to end and the lord is deciding who comes into the golden gates, the first one will be Char. Though I have never met her, she has brought lots of joy to me. (and others also) Another record I enjoy is the Johnny Mathis three cd set that my daughter got me for Christmas. Also Char I am also not a fan of Blackbery Wine and Baby Step Back. (But they both sounded very good at the concert)

Mary Ann,
A post on 'Clapton'...
British pop and Rock was music of my youth.
To be honest, I haven't been hot for it for many years.
I've heard most of it and seen a lot of the big groups live.(Stones,The Who).
Eric's quite a regular on British TV.
He's like an institution.
A Living Guitar player beyond compare...
Some would say...(Got to be careful, you understand.)

Frank.

Are there any non GL songs? Only kidding, Frank!
Most stuff by Emmylou Harris, Jim Croce - Time in a Bottle and I'll be back with more.

Yikes!!!! Posted an entry in the 'singer-songwriter' topic page instead. Too many choices perhaps but a great site nonetheless.
Would The Rheostatics count in this section? Their disks "Melville" and "Double Live" contain the cover of "Edmund Fitz".

Now this loooks like an interesting subject that somehow lost it's way!

Well,I'll save time by saying that I have so many non-GL songs that if i made a list,it would take up as much space as the,"Your favorite GL Song & Why" topic. Just to name a few,"Concerto In D Major" by Vivaldi and his other work,"The Four Seasons". Anything Mozart.

I also am partial to,"Calypso" and "Annie's Song" & "Sunshine On My Shoulder's-John Denver.
"Oh Very Young","Morning Has Broken" & "Moon Shadow"-Cat Stevens
"Year Of The Cat","Time Passages" & other Al Stewart Songs.
I have all of AMERICA'S 1970's LPs
Jim Croce is always cool!
The Stylistics/Temptations/Four Tops/Boyz II Men/Usher etc.
Jackson Browne
The Beatles of course and their adjoining solo careers.
Elvis (not as much as others)
Many more male artists and groups.

On the female side:Mariah Carey (My woman! )
Janis Joplin/Cher (most of her)/Janet Jackson/Whitney (before 2000)/Melissa Etheridge/Sheryl Crow/Annie Lennox or Eurythmics/Karen Carpenter/ONJ/Janis Ian/Rickie Lee Jones/Carole King/Aretha Franklin and soooooo many more! I also get into Folk,Jazz/Hip-hop (minimally)/R & B/Disco/40's through today and anything else I've missed! I guess that sums it up. Been me,Aurevoir!
