I just saw the news of this on Cnn Jov. :( I
'm so major leauge bummed now.
Only 3 days before her birthday too.

I didn't date much in my teens and watching Golden Girls & the othr NBC fav's that night was how I got through those times.

Especially thanks to the wit of "Sophia".

Rest in peace Estelle and thanks for that.

I watch 1 hour of Golden Girls reruns every night. I enjoy all the girls but Sophia does wonderful straight lines. It is hard not to wake my husband up with my laughing. At least Estelle is not in pain. :)

She was great!
I think her character was the perfect role for her...she did such a great job on that show.
Love the show and her very much. :( She will be missed.

I absolutely ADORED her as Sophia. She was exactly what I wish my own grandmother had been. I also had the chance to see Stop Or My Mother Will Shoot & thought she was hilarious as Stallones mum. The combination of those two reminded me so much of a Great Dane(Stallone) and a chihuahua(Getty).
