Just read this a little while ago. As a guitarist -- an acoustic guitarist, there are a few giants we look up to...and they all pretty much looked up to Doc! Had the pleasure of seeing him perform live several times, and it was always a powerful experience. Pure, deceptively simple, clean, true...striking at the very core of human feeling.

Yes! Doc was a true American treasure. No one could play and sing like him. He was a bit like Gordon, being a very humble man. I always wished he would have recorded a Lightfoot tune. (Who knows, maybe one will show up sometime.) Doc will be greatly missed, but I know he is in a much better place.
