I made the mistake of getting bored with waiting for GL (having no idea of when he was supposed to be on)that I left to do some housework. When I came back a blonde singer Jan(?)Arden was on and I realized that I had just missed GL!

Well, good for them. I'm happy for them. Ruins a few good fantasies, but that's small potatoes compared to putting a marriage back together . . . sighhhhh . . .

I don't know if jumping to any conclusions in regards to his relationship with Mrs.Lightfoot can be made one way or the other.

No, probably not. But he's wearing a wedding ring. Can't have a fantasy that turns out good if the guy's wearing one of those.

Did you try right clicking on the image and choosing Save Picture or Target As? Haven't tried it, so I don't know if the photos are protected.

I am so happy-I got to see/hear GL on Live 8 replay. He looked and sounded great...the crowd, which seemed on the young side, went wild for him. Fabulous. Bill W. see what we have to look forward to.

OK even though I have so far been unable to see or hear anything of Gord's contribution and have therefore only been able
only read the reviews.
but just maybe I can tame my beastly PC in time for the rebroadcasting tomorrow or whenever it is,Meanwhile and thanks to
Char's Newsgroup posting I was able to see a picture of Gord at Barrie from:-
http://www.cbc.ca/story/arts/nationa...ve8barrie.html

John Fowles
Now to try to see the other two pix mentioned above If I can get them to appear then regardless of whether saving is disabled I'll try making screenshots c u l8er

It is a series of stoopid flash galleries not individual pictures but there is always more than one way to skin a cat oops
sorry catmanron and Sharron so if I could actually see these alleged Gordpix I could certainly make screenshots but on a dial
up takes yonks to load and so far usually brings up a note that there has been an error loading also the thumbnails are refusing to load so any clues on which of the 7 galleries listed contains Gord's 2 pix??
So far I have only seen one pic (of the stage) but I'll keep trying

You can now watch Lightfoot's Live 8 performances on-demand on AOL here:

http://music.aol.com/artist/main.adp...2053&albumid=0

I was thrilled to see this as I missed all but the last song on the original broadcast and kept missing him on the rebroadcast.

Apparently if you have ever uninstalled AOL in a fit of pique it remembers and never allows you to view AOL content again. On the one hand, small price to pay for getting rid of AOL's high handed tactics. On the other hand I CAN'T VIEW ANY OF THE DAMN CLIPS.

Very, very cool! I can watch it on my Mac, which I couldn't do during the actual broadcast. Now, if I could only figure out how to save it...

you don't hve to have AOL to watch it. Anyone can who has a computer and media player.

Yeah, you'd think wouldn't you Sheryl. But my computer won't load it, or tells me I've executed an illegal manuver or freezes or shuts down entirely. In short, I pissed of AOL badly when I called them all those names right before I dumped their sorry excuse for an ISP.

If I had a few hours I could probably find a way around whatever the problem is, but just the fact that the content is only available through AOL is enough to keep me from trying.

I don't have AOL and was asked to install something small - I forget if it was a plug-in to Windows Media Player or something more specifically AOL - the first time I watched. Took just a couple of seconds and I've surprisingly had no problems whatsoever.

The clips work great and GL did a nice job. Mr. Fowles, you simply need to get broadband. I admire your dedication to this board using only dialup.

I just watched the clips and was thrilled it worked - didn't see him on Saturday!

Gordon did a fantastic job and I love it when it's just him, his voice and his guitar. I always have the feeling to be "closer" to his music when it's just an accoustic version. I wish he would bring out a whole CD with just him and the guitar.

Does anybody know why he didn't bring his band this time?
He looked real great too and obviously had a good time. Standing in front of that huge crowd must be quite something - even for him!

Well Said Claudia! I agree ... Dump the band for a while. It is about Gord and his songs! take em back after a CD or two!

I didn't know what Let It Ride sounded like because I don't have East of Midnight yet (where Let It Ride is on) and I decided to listen to the Live 8 performance of it...I LOVE THIS SONG TO DEATH!!! I was always worried about the EOM album and was going to wait until I had his other albums before I acquired EOM but I love, love this song, and I didn't think I would like it so much the first time!

I've heard IYCRMM before on the radio but I thought it was just okay...but I love the song now that I heard it again at Live 8...and I love Restless too!

Ohhh, Shazia, I first heard IYCRMM as a dreamy 14-year-old. Imagine what a sexy, full-throated baritone voice singing those heart-tugging lyrics will do to a teenage girl?? That man's had my heart since then.

Well,I can finally say i saw 2 out of the 3 clips of Gordon at Live 8. I watched IYCRMM and Let It Ride. For some strange reason I could not getr the "Restless" clip to play like the others did.

I did this at work Sunday, because I was allowed to work alone and basically,be in charge that day. So,once work was done,I used the office PC! If I get a chance..."I'd Do It Again"! :D
