Default Canada Day Lightfoot Celebration

a mature audience, mostly dressed in red and white, and who were totally familiar with all sorts of Gord tunes, showed up over a 4 hour period to take in an afternoon of Lightfoot favourites... some where there with children and grandchildren so it really was multigenerational music playing to multiple generations

Pussywillows Cattails

Steel Rail Blues

Did She Mention My Name

Early Morning Rain

The Watchman's Gone

Never Too Close

Me and Bobby McGee, cover

Ode To Big Blue

Canadian Railroad Trilogy (45 yrs since he premiered it)

If You Could Read My Mind

Black Day in July

Cotton Jenny

Dreamland

For Lovin' Me

Farewell to Nova Scotia, cover

Sundown

Second Cup of Coffee

Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald

Song for a Winters Night

Cold on the Shoulder

Don Quixote

Rainy Day People

Beautiful

Summertime Dream

Carefree Highway

Alberta Bound

Restless

Inspiration Lady

The Auctioneer, cover

hundreds of folks coming, going, singing, dancing & lots of gaffs...i mean, laffs

we left about a dozen other faves in the rotation on the shelf for "next time" ...looking for an outdoor evening venue or perhaps a boat tour type gig... if anyone in the GTA or southern Ontario knows of an ideal spot, please give us a hoot 'n holler

Wow, I sure wish I'd been there! Were it not such a long trek from Texas, I would have been!

Keep it up - you guys are awesome. Rock on!

You guys sound awesome!

Hey, how much would you charge to come to NH this summer? We are renting a house on a lake that is one of several in a compound. I can just picture an evening concert with real loons calling in the background. lol

Just kidding, but one can dream.

Hey guys.

That's an "encore type applause" there and well earned and well justified.

Man. those guitar licks are alive and sounding out real good in the hometown of master guitarist Red Shea, and given to us here by our own multi talented Kenyon Wallace.

High five to you guys from this lightheaded2toe guy, also writing this from Red Shea town where my son lives and hanging out with grandkids, playing Gord tunes, and in general, living out those golden years in style.

This is one heck of a good band here and we note the repertoire keeps growing.

That's a clear signal we'll be hearing lots more and it comes with a very warm and enthusiastic welcome.

Stay loose,

RJ.

those are nice comments, and much appreciated, folks

wow, that sounds like a gig we'd love, Di, but yes a bit far...i have good memories of NH (mount washington valley and up the cog to the peak)

we should have a request list, but yes, ron, we've toyed with about 50 so far

speaking of encores, we should have stopped at one (Beautiful)... when we were egged on for a second, well, a gal came right up on stage to announce she'd lost her EuroCup Final bet...we asked if she wanted to sing a Spanish song...she said no, but wanted to sing to the Wreck instead...here's a taste:

Really enjoyed focusing in on Scott's reaction throughout this one. The pure enjoyment came when he brought in a most professional resolution to such a painfully joyous performance.

Inviting overzealous audience members onto the stage sheds a whole new meaning to "stay loose."
