Default Falling/Fallen Leaves

Yesterday, while taking a walk through a park ,I just thought `why not start a thread about songs in which the above words can be found `.
So, here is Number 1: Leaves in the garden are falling,calling...(Your loveīs return G.L. ) and one more Number 2: Fallen leaves (songtitle by Billy Talent) .
Any Idea? ( Googeln VERBOTEN!!! ) Vera

Err Umm there was absolutely no need to Google
searching youtube worked just fine for me...
chosen from the first 200 of 353000 plus results
From everybody's favourite
to oldies but goodies like
some "highbrow"
The "King" himself
Even that Jackson fellow
Avril Lavigne
i could have sworn there is a "Falling by Canadian Sarah MCLachlan, but no it's "Fallen" I'll leave the rest to you to discover
and of course the theme from B C & T S K
I might be back tomorrow with an artistic posting about fallen leaves in our own backyard being that it's the season and all

Er uhmm......I believe 'leaves' should be included in any example. 'Falling' alone, falls short of the criteria.

Ron I think the rules/criteria are very open to interpretation.
You took it that "songs in which the above words can be found" meant include more than a single word. I could equally validly make a case that a song must include every one of the three words presented not just one as I assumed or two as you did.
If one is aceptable then our hero's Leaves of Grass qualifies also
anyway I threatened/promised some pix
first a windows wallpaper pic that comes with XP

we are now awaiting the deluge from a rather lovely and large tree in our back yard. colloquially known as an "itchy ball" tree from the hedgehog like fruit that pepper the grass under it all year round

in fact it is a
SWEETGUM, also called Liquidamber, is often planted
as a shade tree because of brilliant fall coloring in its
foliage. It is a tall, straight tree of low, moist places. Its
short, gray, horizontal branches bear thick twigs with
corky ridges. The star-shaped leaves are somewhat like
those of Maple but grow alternate on the twigs. The hang-
ing, dry fruit, a ball covered with tiny horns, opens to
release small winged seeds, which are eaten by birds.
The bark is thick, gray, and scaly.
The Soft Weak Brownish wood is
usded for furniture,cabinetwork,and
veneer
height 80 to 120 ft.
Witch Hazel family
I also found
"Sugar gum ( Eucalyptus cladocalyx ) is a hardy tree, commonly planted on farms in western Victoria and South Australia."

whatever the falling leaves really do rival the maple (we have a pair of small maples too but their autumn leaves are no contest for the gum tree.First a picture fom 2004 of the mass of leaves awaiting collection (actually I use a small 150MPH electric blower for this)

Here endeth today's nature lesson kids
In 2004 I scanned a number of interestingly coloured leaves but I actually went out this morning and collected some fresh samples so I'll be back with more

Why go further than our favourite??? (fallen may be implied)

The Last Time I Saw Her
The last time she kissed my cheek
Her lips were like the wilted leaves
Upon the autumn covered hills
Resting on the frozen ground

Leaves Of Grass
The leaves of grass will not pass on
Though the millstones grind them into dust
For the earth shall give life to them
But only the grass will grow once more

Looking At The Rain
Looking at the rain
Feeling the pain
Of love lost running though
My brain
Looking at the wind
Watching it spin
The leaves along the street
You win
Waiting for a line to fall
Telling you its all a big mistake

Peaceful Waters
The dead leaves of autumn
That cling so desperately
Must fly before the cold October winds
Their simple lives have ended
Must they be born to die again

Changes
Green leaves of summer turn red in the fall
To brown and to yellow they fade
And then they have to die, trapped within
(Phil Ochs) By G.L.

And for another fave how ‘bout

California Dreamin’
All the leaves are brown and the sky is gray
I've been for a walk on a winter's day
I'd be safe and warm if I was in L.A.
California dreamin' on such a winter's day

Yuri

Ok, Yuri, dead leaves, brown leaves, wilted leaves sure do qualify- and all these songs about things slowly fading-arenīt they just beautiful. It so seems thatīs exactly the mood I was in when I started the thread. Besides, I just love the season. Thanks for the gorgeous photo with the yellow leaves, John. I love it.
So, just one more-if not by our favorite poet-musician, then at least by Bob Dylan:`Desperate men, desperate women, divided, spreading their wings `neath the falling leaves..`(`Changing of the Guardsī from the `Street Legalī album). An all-time favorite of mine. V.

I'm a strange one. I love the fall and the spring as those seasons show "change" whereas you "settle into" winter and summer. Don't get me wrong, I love a nice sunny summer's day, but for me, there is something special about a moody overcast fall day with colourful leaves swirling in a misty breeze. Rainy days are my favourites! I embrace what many others run away from.

"shivering, quivering, water to my knees"

Great Imagery in all those songs

Love & Maple Syrup

If you go into the forest, gaze up through the leaves
And see the sky that's almost wild
You can learn to understand
What makes the forest greet the man
Like a mother's only child

Leaves Of Grass

For soon the leaves will die
And the long hard wind will blow
May this world find a resting place
Where peaceful waters flow

Sir John. I read your posting about sweetgum trees, and it looks like you aren't too fond of the little boogers. I know for certain that we here in the South aren't too fond of them either. myself, I hate them so much that I'm seriously thinking about hiring a tree service to come & cut down & remove the little beasts that we have in our yard. I might even cosider cutting down a nasty persimmon tree that we have as well as it draws bees & other stinging insects every year, in droves.
