Default Circle of Steel- The Jigsaw Seen

My friends, The Jigsaw Seen which is also Dave Davies of the KINK's backing band play a version of "Circle of Steel" from their Winterland album. These guys are such big Gordon Lightfoot fans and it was this very song that drew me to them. When my kidney recipient last year had a fundraiser for his aftercare, these guys were instrumental in stepping up to really help drive up donations by sacrificing their personal time by lead guitarist Jonathan Lea taking each donor out to dinner on his own dollar with added gifts to others of autograph CDs.

There is a Circle of Steel video of the song on YouTube. I was told by Jonathan, that a friend of theirs who had a connection to Gordon supposedly gave him a copy. But not a hundred percent positive Gordon actually heard it. Or if he did, what he felt about it. The song is a little different than Gordon's version and they wanted to pay tribute to someone who they really admire.

what a terrific bunch of guys... we are trying to get more into the fundraiser and awareness (our first one was for Rescue Dogs) initiative but the 'dinner' stuff is really going the extra mile, wow

i like start of the video

i found it very easy to get "swabbed" and enter the registry years ago... and he driver's license donor process is a no brainer (no body will want mine anyhow )

here is the track you speak of

i dont' know if you have check out the Covers forum much, David, but a couple of us Corfiddlers laid this down last year... we've never even talked of met, just all done using the internet ... Gord stuff continues to bring countries together

Thank you Charlene for posting the Jigsaw Seen video. And I am grateful for the fundraiser you yourself had for the Dog Rescue. My Pug Odie is a rescue and I realize the importance of the Pet Rescues being able to operate and how much it cost to run such an operation. Thanks to all who look over the furry little angels.

char opened the show singing the national anthem … acapella

the dogs all joined in... but nobody noticed

"Elderly/special needs rescue dogs may be overlooked for adoption if veterinary expenses exceed financial limitations. Abbey Foundation helps pay for those needs to expedite adoptions into caring new homes. Proceeds from our concert will be donated to Speaking of Dogs and "Angel Fund" at Green Lane Animal Hospital"

don't know how the Goodman tune got in there, lol

Hi jj ! I am so sorry my friend for the slight. But I am so honored to know you and the others who take care of our fury little children. And thank you Charlene for posting the links above. The second link from the online magazine describing Jerry's, Lori's and my final night before the surgery at the hotel, was a night I will always remember. It was only a matter of nine hours before the transplant and it was our last team meeting. That one night will forever remain in my memory. It amazes me now looking back, how a life was changed forever. Three lives! The most unsung hero was actually not Jerry or myself but my wife Lori. She was always there for both of us. And if there was ever any strain upon Jerry and I, she felt it from both sides. But handled everything superbly. She was my and is my rock. My love for her grows continuously stronger by the second. Even as I'm thinking of how I could love her more than I already do. And jj? The story I told about Jonathan of the Jigsaw Seen offering dinner dates to fans who donated never really made the press except for the offer's being made on Facebook during the Indiegogo fundraiser. By the way, we did reach the goal of $15,000.00 for Jerry's after care that isn't covered by insurance. The whole experience was amazing. Just watching how everyone came together to save a life. I only played a small part in it all. The teams of surgeons, the nurses and the marketing department at the University Transplant Hospital in San Antonio were such a team. One big team. A team that I was proud to be a part of. Thanks again jj and Charlene and everyone else for your support. You people are amazing. I admire the love and friendship you all have for one another. I am proud to be a member of this site. Thank you!

P.S......The Jigsaw Seen's bassist Tom Currier donated a kidney to his brother years ago. And along with his support and Dennis's, Jonathan's and Teddy's sent all the way from Italy, I never felt alone.
