#1. Waiting For You

#2. A tie between Salute & Harmony

#3. Don Quixote

#5. East Of Midnight

Alright folks.

My vote doesn't count, although I pick COTS over SD despite "The Wreck" and "The House". To me, Shoulder is just a better album (plus it has more songs than Summertime Dream).

Strange as it sounds,I prefer Cold On The Shoulder more. I like S.D. for "Wreck" and a few other songs but overall,I like even more songs from COTS.

I'm just funny that way. :D

I agree with you James about COS. Great album! how about that 12 string sound on "A tree to weak to stand"!! fantastic. many great songs on that album.

Yep. Better guitar playing on there, and the better songs. Plus I like that there are a lot of love songs as well, such as: Rainbow Trout, All The Lovely Ladies, Fine As Fine Can Be, etc. (which is kind of why I posted that picture of me and my girl)

Cold On the Shoulder

Despite almost every single song on Summertime being memorable, I love COtS. My favorites off the top of my head on COtS are:

1. Bend In the Water - ENERGY !
2. Cherokee Bend - great guitar and story !
3. Rain On the Rock - EPIC ! metaphor-mania !
4. Rainbow Trout - fun; my daughter loved it along with Ponyman on IYCRMM

p.s. which reminds me - I vaguely recall Gordon either mentioning in concert or in writing that as mentioned above (the song "Fine As Fine Can Be" ) THAT song he wrote for one of his daughters. When asked, he responded he has not yet written a song worthy of each of his children.

Beautiful lady you are with in the picture. She looks kind. Thank you for this effort u make James !

Hey James,

It's nice to see a younger Lightfoot fan on here. I didn't know you were so young until you posted that picture. I'm 25 and have been a Lightfoot fan pretty much all my life. It wasn't until I was about 15 though, that I really got into his stuff. Where is that beach in your picture? I live in Toronto so not really any nice beaches around here.

Funny you should bring up the topic of what album is better, because Summertime Dream happens to be my favourite Lightfoot album. Well, that's not entirely true, as it seems I go through phases where the current album I'm listening to is my favourite. But I just love the sound on Summertime Dream and like the fact that most songs are just his core band with no added musicians. I won't dispute the fact that Cold on the Shoulder is also a great record. Waiting for You is definitely one of his best too.

Have you ever seen Lightfoot in concert? I think I'm over the 20 concert mark now. Anyway, good to see someone closer to my age on here.

Cheers,
Kenyon

My God. You're younger than my kids are!
Great to see another young'un on the group... proof that Gord's music lives on.

SUMMERTIME DREAM

Proof that certain medieval practices still have a place in todays society.

A Fowlsian pictorial clue of what should be done to Corfidians who expressed a contra view.

You know, that's a good idea, Steve. If someone continuously steps out of line, we could just roast him.
