Flattery will get you a long way Jesse

Yes well, the Reno masterpiece remainds the main authorised DVD release.
Plus as Jesse pointed out the film of Harry Tracy is (or was) available on DVD

Valerie has rcently stressed the merits of the legit commercial release of an edition of Music Scene from 1969 featuring two "must
have" videos of Gordon with Rick and Red (all three looking impossibly young of course)

Screenshot from the video
and a quick search on the Newsgroup
revealed that Charlene had posted in 2001 an advice at:-
http://groups.google.com/group/alt.m...cd48a22?hl=en&
that
"Two DVD set - Music Scene (69-70) now available"
her old Toronto Star link no longer works though
If you try http://www.amazon.com/
you will find
AmazonAmazon these DVDs are all shown on Valerie's page
http://gordonlightfoot.com/GordonLightfootDVDs.shtml
Amazon currently want only us$21.99 for Volume2

beyond those there are a number of unauthorised DVDs that pop up frequently on ebay
The pick of this bunch must be the digitised version of the one hour long PBS Soundstage video from 1979.However the picture quality is only as good as the original source VHS recording which shall we say could have been better
Not so the ambitious artwork sometimes seen on an auction item

Do note that this dvd is "vol 1 of 30"!!
Many other video tapes have been digitised by opportunist profiteers especially the wonderful Peter Gzowski interview and the Much More Music 1999 "Intimate and Interactive" It is to be hoped that a respectable arrangement could allow the DVD issue of part of the substantial video collection held by the CBC, especially a superb 1968 television special the acquisition of which I for one have as a primary Lightfoot
unfulfilled ambition

However I do not think anybody should hold their breath waiting for such desirable releases

You should check out:-
http://cgi.ebay.com/Gordon-Lightfoot...QQcmdZViewItem
an auction entitled"Gordon Lightfoot 1979 Chicago Soundstage W/ Many Xtras"
A 2 dvd*** set w/ 3 extra dvds for bids above $25.00.
as this gives a concise listing by the seller (in Toledo) of the range of unauthorised videos he is peddling but:-
"IMPORTANT NOTE:THESE DVDS HAVE NO ARTWORK ON THE CASE OR DVD. YOU JUST GET PLENTY OF VINTAGE LIGHTFOOT VIDEO ON DVD!!!"
Cop-out!!
Johnfowles
***probably not 2 DVDs but one DVD plus an audio CD ripped from the video
