Love them all, find them moving and poignant. But, at this time (and this is subject to change), it's River of Light..

"Harmony" brought me to tears several times. This is the most emotional song I have ever heard. The lyrics are quite simple but the underlying message is quite haunting. At least that's how I see it...or is it hear it?

End of all time. No, wait-Clouds of loneliness. No, Shellfish. EEK! I can't do it! Can't pick just one. Harmony... or... Sorry. No way. The album is too full of incredible, meaningful songs. (I have played them enough now so I don't start crying.)

currently, clouds of loneliness
cos, it calms me often to the point of depression (which some say is underrated)
...the real depressing part is that whenever it plays, i realize that this fine cd is running out of tunes

after that the order is something like this:
2.River Of Light
3.Harmony
4.Inspiration Lady
5.Flyin' Blind
6.No Mistake About It
7.Couchiching
8.No Hotel/Shellfish (Tie)
9.Clouds Of Loneliness
10.Sometimes I Wish

definately River of light.

it's a relaxing tune with a great melody that could stand up to the glories of the 70s tunes he recorded. cant get enough of it

OK here's my current ranking:

1. Shellfish
2. Clouds of Loneliness
3. Inspiration Lady
4. Sometimes I Wish
5. End of all time
6. No Hotel
7. River of Light
8. Harmony
9. No mistake about it
10. Flyin' Blind
11. Couchiching

The fact that there is little agreement on which songs are best is testament to how great this CD is.

I agree with Stationmaster on that one. Harmony is truly a haunting, yet simple song. It probably tells about someone or something he has lost. I still am hooked on Inspiration Lady bcuse it describes so many ppl i know.

Shellfish is number one and River Of Light is number two. These are the two clear cut winners.

As for the rest, I like/love 'em all, with the exception of Couchiching. Pity, as it's about my hometown.

"River of Light" for me. I agree with Joveski who said it could fit with the best of his 70s (yes, I'm one of those who likes his sound and songs from the early to mid 70s the best).

I still hit the replay button over and over for River of Light before I go on to song three...

Harmony is, like i said, a truly haunting, mysterious ballad about someone he has lost.

I think that "someone" was himself! Just listen to the song carefully, he is searching for his harmony...

End of all time. Number one on my list! A winner on a really super release. I agree that the song Harmony is about Gord himself. I think he is writing about his own voice and musical abilities at this point in his life. It is special!

"Harmony" is my favorite. Our family was blessed with an unexpected grandaughter last November. Her name is Autumn Harmony. I play and try to sing this song to her. It has soothed her through colic and teeting very nicely.

That's cool. My grandbaby loves Couchiching. It's so fun to sing she's gonna be getting down old gramps cd's when she visits.

The more I listen to the entire CD, the more I appreciate it and all it's nuances. It was mentioned here and I agree that it has made me emotional a few times too. I had to put my cat, Ashley, to sleep just before I got the CD (after 10 years together) and Clouds of Loneliness really had me in tears- "Losing a friend isn't what we had in mind exactly". Bob Doidge on classical guitar helped create such breathtaking heartache to that song, I think...Linda

About those favorites of Harmony, I would say "End of all days" is my first choice.
"Flying Blind" is in second, although I still don't understand what the song is about. It reminds me of songs by the 1970's group "America" who made "Sandman" and "Horse with no name." It was all abstract material. My least favorite is
"No mistake about it."
