Default Trains Planes and Automobiles

I'm back at work today after a fun weekend with Char in New York. She will probably need a bit of time to recover, as there wasn't that much sleep to be had, then I'm sure she will better recount the weekend than I would.
Needless to say, it was a lot of fun, the concerts were great, and it was nice to run into some other Lightheads along the way. Gord sounded just great the two nights we saw him, and seemed to be enjoying himself.

BB Kings was a perfect venue for him, and I actually got to lean my elbow on the stage, we were that close. Mike gave me a two handed wave, I thought he was just being exceptionally friendly till I realized it was to show me "look ma, no hands" moment during Restless! I accused him of putting a rock on the keyboard, but he said it was a footpedal.

The highlight of the weekend though was after Gord had asked Char if she was going to Tarrytown and she said yes, he came out solo at the begining of the second set and launched into I'll Tag Along. Just spectacular!! The other highlight was Gord and Mike alone on the stage performing Drink Yer Glasses Empty.

I have to get back to work, and I'm sure Char will have a great recap up soon.

YEAH!!! Char got her ITA!!! Thanks Gord.

Funny Mike story. What a clown.

Glad to hear "new" songs in the rotation. But I still agree with jj on the other thread...Gord could dig a little deeper.

Sleep quick Char. We want the details as only you can tell.

Thanks Jenney for this quick synopsis.

Great info, Jenney.
Good thing they didn't have a "No Elbows" rule on the stage......

"Thelma and Louise Survive Manhattan"

Sounds like you gals had a blast. From the videos I've watched, Gord seems to be energetic and in good voice. He looks perky. The "Sweet Betsy From Pike" line always cracks me up.

I've been trying to identify which songs may be the ones that have been upstaged by the new entries in the rotation. Closest I've gotten with my list - Never Too Close, Ringneck Loon, If Children Had Wings, 14K Gold, In My Fashion.
Of course, that could change at any moment.

Doesn't matter - he could stand up there and read the phone book and I'd still buy a ticket.

Of course
oh, as was mentioned, DQ is out

he did do In My Fashion in Tarrytown

here are some that are not present, thus far:

Did She Mention My Name
Alberta Bound
Fine As Fine Can Be
Sea Of Tranquility...

14K Gold suits their current band sound best, imo... i'll miss it (and NTC)

Cotton Jenny was done in Charleston, WV. Haven't seen the others yet, though. Can't imagine that DQ will stay gone for very long.
Good to see Triangle still in there.
But to see "Strawberries" and "Drink Yer Glasses" and "Press On" back in the mix - wow. Not to mention "Race."
You're right, Jimmy, the "Waiting for You - Revisited" tour. I love it.

here is irony, the only single release from WFY was I'll Prove My Love ...but it didn't make it onto the mix for the 'revival tour', lol

but its on the Reno dvd....I'll get by...for 2013 please add Only Love Would Know and keep the shaker/shuffle percussion nice and subtle...not like Flying Blind

I say give the song Waiting For You a rest...its been in there for years

Gord sounds strong...have a great time next week, Melissa...we await word

When I was driving to work today, the first song I listened to was Only Love Would Know

I would love to have it in the rotation too, but I suspect that it is a bit too long.

It would be great to hear a few of the shorter gems like Go My Way, Ordinary Man, or Heaven Help the Devil.

while Jenney and I were checking e-mails on the computers in the hotel lobby in Tarrytown, SUNDOWN came over the MUZAK speakers ... Jenney thought it was Gord lurking somewhere behind the furniture...
lol
