I was fortunate to see Odetta perform at the Greek Theatre in L.A. back in 1970. She had an incredible, powerful, and very distinctive voice. May she rest in peace...

IN MEMORIAM
The Hugh's Room family is deeply saddened by the passing of our dear friend Odetta on Dec 2, 2008. Those of us who saw her performance at the room just 6 weeks ago could not have known we were witnessing her very last stage show, but we did know we were in the presence of a truly great human being and an inspiring performer.

She touched us all and we will miss her greatly.
