Default Gordon in North Las Vegas

Another stunning evening. Even Gordon said they were on a roll. And they were! I was seated next to a guitar player from the Hard Rock in Vegas and he was blown away by the caliber of the musicians' playing and Gordon's singing. Last night I thought it was the energy. Tonight I thought it was a number of fast-paced songs sung in rapid succession, which is sort of the same thing as energy, I guess. The concerts are always tight and well orchestrated, but this time out, there is some extra excitement. And one other thing; I was way down front tonight and noticed that Gordon looks particularly well; refreshed with a happy, upbeat personality. Everybody was happy tonight. One of the reasons I was way down front is that I made a near-fatal mistake in my trip planning. After driving from my home in New Hampshire to Boston to fly to Phoenix, changed planes to Vegas, rented a car, drove across three states to Utah and back again, I just realized today that I had failed to purchase a ticket to tonight's concert. The concert was sold out, even the standing room, and the casino told me there was no hope, although they would take my cell phone number just in case. And then the band turned in four tickets around 4 pm third row center. Saved by the band! That is my definition of being lucky in Las Vegas. Carter sang again tonight, yes on Sundown, they didn't do Triangle, he sang on one other song but I can't remember which one. It's going to be a great fall tour, ambitious, but like Gordon says, they are on a roll.

Super good news again.... Glad he sounds and looks good.

Also GLAD you got the TICKETS!!!!!!!!!

I did notice, as I mentioned before that Gord's voice is much better... Do any of you out there have any idea how someone can improve his voice like Gord did? BIG difference!

No, they didn't do Sweet Guinivere. And now I am heading back east to work, will not be back on the scene until January in Florida, so will have to pass the responsibility of identifying Carter's singing numbers to another. Perhaps Dori, who still has 6 wonderful concerts left to attend or her western tour. I remembered one other really memorable scene from last night, the instrumental ending of In My Fashion, when Gordon turned slightly toward Rick and the two had a moment. Gordon was strumming, Rick was doing some technique that probably has a name that I don't know but it involves sliding up and down his strings, their execution was perfect, their eyes met, they acknowledged each other with their body language. Maybe I am projecting, but knowing how they are best friends and road warriors, imagining the hours of practice and performing that goes into mastering these movements, watching them have fun with it in addition to playing with perfection, it adds another dimension. When they are animated on stage and when Gordon approaches the line of relaxation on stage, it really resonates with the audience and they respond in kind. I also noticed that Mike is getting more featured attention and lighting, well deserved. These are subtle things but great and interesting ways to enhance the overall experience.
