Default GL Interviewed by Richard Crouse (First Aired Nov. 2020) - Cover Versio

Here is a link to a 9-minute interview of Gordon Lightfoot by Richard Crouse that first aired on the CTV show "Pop Life" on November 14, 2020:

In his introduction to the interview, Crouse mentions that he interviewed Lightfoot just before the COVID-19 pandemic began (i.e., in early 2020).

Near the end of the interview, after noting that Lightfoot's song "If You Could Read My Mind" has been covered a little over 300 times, Crouse asked Lightfoot about whether he had a favourite cover version of the song. I was interested to learn that Lightfoot's all-time favourite cover version of "If You Could Read My Mind" is a disco version of the song by Viola Wills and that his second-favourite cover version of the song is by Barbra Streisand.

Other musicians who have covered Lightfoot's "If You Could Read My Mind" include Herb Alpert, Glen Campbell, Johnny Cash, Joe Dissan (in French), Diana Krall and Sarah McLachlan (in a duet), Johnny Mathis, Don McLean, Liza Minnelli, Olivia Newton-John, Stars on 54, Andy Williams, Don Williams and Neil Young.

Below are links to Lightfoot's recording of "If You Could Read My Mind" and some of the many cover versions of the song:

Gordon Lightfoot:

Herb Alpert:
Glen Campbell:
Johnny Cash:
Joe Dissan (in French):
Diana Krall and Sarah McLachlan:
Johnny Mathis:
Don McLean:
Liza Minnelli:
Olivia Newton-John:
Stars on 54:
Barbra Streisand:
Andy Williams:
Don Williams:
Viola Wills:
Neil Young:

My favourite cover version of "If You Could Read My Mind" is probably the version by Joe Dissan.

I'm curious to know whether others have a favourite cover version of
"If You Could Read My Mind".
