Where is Biscuit City?

I know this has probably been asked and answered before, but can anyone please let me know if there is an actual Biscuit City? I can only find very little on the net on why Gordon used this town in the song title. Thank you.

going back over a decade ago this was answered by someone who had asked Gordon where it was. He said it wasn't a place but a 'state of mind"..

True enough. But if you use Google Earth, you'll find that there is a Biscuit City Street in Charlestown, Rhode Island.

Well done Don Quixote and also Mr Google. Using his Streetview I was able to make screenshots not only of Biscuit City Road but also NEW BCR.But no sign of any actual settlement. This place has been discussed her before most not notably after a dizzy blonde Brit snapped a road sign on Interstate I95 in Rhode Island see:-

Yes, Char quoted me. I asked Gordy years ago, back in Denver. We visited briefly the day after his concert & told me that it was a state of mind, not a place. :)

I'd be interested in why "Biscuit" even as a state of mind. Every time I hear it I hear my English Canadian husband say somebody bought the biscuit as in bought the farm or died. Peculiar phrase either way.

Re: Where is Biscuit City?

After our usual superb Thanksgiving family meal timed to perfection to clash as before with Massey I enjoyed again eating American "biscuits" I have now consulted Mr Google and found several wiki pages that basically confirm that an American "biscuit" is virtually the same an English "Scone". whereas of course an English "Biscuit "is an American "cookie" Strange eh??

Re: Where is Biscuit City?

Sorry, John, but, IMHO, a good old southern biscuit is NOTHING like an English scone! :) Of course, now, I'm speaking of a scratch-made southern biscuit with a soft and tender brownie-like texture on the inside and a crusty top - like my grandmother used to make. And like all grandmothers used to make - down here in these southern parts of the U.S. :)

No offense to your scone - it's just that I never tasted a scone that tasted like a biscuit.

OK, now I'm hungry.

Melissa
