I see.

You usually would see a show on more than 1 channel in the US.

Are you sure Char? Because that is my scan of a cutting that I personally cut from the edition of the TV Guide bought by me in Montreal and to the best of my ability to dredge up memories of the past CBC Television programs were broadcast on just one channel in Montreal and neither Channel 4. 6 or 11 ring any bells whatsoever and in any case I have no idea why that edition of the guide showed channel numbers from Toronto unless they distributed just the one edition for both Montreal and Toronto?
I was very pleased to se that Doug has now uploaded the complete video himself to YouTube and has then displayed it on one of the far too many Lightfoot pages on Facebook I wonder how long it will last there??
TIP If anybody wants to save a copy for themselves I suggest they ask Mr. Google how to do so he has just produced for me a mere 184 million results (although many are probably duplicates or program listing web pages. I have recently had consistently good results using a French online free service (where you simply copy the video URL from the address bar and get a link to download an mp4 format video file easy peasy. but do it soon while the video is still on YouTube to be grabbed

I hear you James it is now so long ago I forget what freeware program I used I did clip Face of a 1000 people and SFAWN but there are the other two DSMMN and Mountains and Marian just as soon as I tame a freeware program again I will upload them to YouTube too good not to have both of tem up there. Yes both Gord and Red were busy picking their 6-strings on SFAWN. Oops I meant DSMMN of course!!

Yer They be
other than the priceless final 15 minute concert session it is IMHO in retrospect a pretty unremarkable "special"
I do not remember how I made the previous two clips but after trying about a dozen freeware programs and a pair of online websites I finally succeeded in taming SPG Video Splitter to produce two more clips

Totally mesmerizing as we see here with this audience and I was there up close in the front row.
I recall reading in the Toronto Star that the CBC was looking for audience members to be in attendance to fill the studio room.
Of course I was onto that one in no time and lucked out.
That experience became an indelible mark on me and it's never left. I look at this and it takes me back there, just like it was that night. I would have no idea how to assemble the words to describe just how wonderful a feeling it really is.
It sure comes at a great time as next week we're heading to Orillia for the Lightfoot Tribute festivities. It just keeps getting better.
