Default Holmes on Homes

So Canada has another great export! On TLC channel in America. We've gotten hooked on Holmes on Homes as we've fixed up our house and shopped for a new one. Wish we had a trusted contractor 'round here! We plan to get his books and school ourselves as much as possible.

Yes Bill, he's well regarded up here but I'm surprised he made it to U.S. TV.
I ran into him once at a Toronto woodworking show. A friend of mine lives in his neighbourhood and occasionally runs into him. Nice fellow too as he always has the time to stop and say hello.
He can fix houses......too bad he can't fix the housing crisis!
"another great export"? - what, you didn't get 'Red Green'???

lol... hey, don't you mean a bad section?

was handy, bushy eye-browed, Mag Ruffman ever exported? (and which came first, Tool Girl or Avonlea?)

plus what ever happened to those good natured, Men in Tool Belts? (or have Steve & Chris replaced them? )

Yeah, we love the Holmes stuff.

And I also got hooked on Red Green many years ago on PBS in America.

I think the two should have a "build off"!

I always used to watch Holmes On Homes when it was on The Discovery Home Channel. They changed that to The Planet Green Channel recently and took HOH off because it didn't fit their criteria for the types of shows they wanted.

They show What Not To Wear instead.

I am happy to hear that Mike is on the TLC Channel now. I love his show and have missed watching that big, hunky Canadian guy

He really does seem like a nice guy and that he cares about the people he is working for. We are do it your selfers and get lots of good ideas from his show.

in 2007, we actually applied to have our situation as theme for one of the Holmes episode...they responded with interest and said they would make a site visit then consider for the 2009 season since the entire 2008 series was already in post production

we couldn't wait and went ahead with a remedy, quite large project

too bad, you know how Mike is...you've got a bit of a crooked drawer beneath the sink and so he ends up giving you an entire new bathroom, lol

well, I see that Holmes was actually on the Steve and Chris recipe segment...click on the video link if nothing at all better to do

That would be a dream come true for a lot of people...lol. He really tears the heck out of a house and puts it back together right.

I have the tearing up part down....it's the putting back together that confounds me at times.

Thanks for the link, jj. That was fun to watch.
