Default Song For a Winter's Night.

Snowing here in the Chicago area again, so this song is obviously appropriate

Yeah, snowing in the Palos/Orland area again. Finally a white Christmas, as opposed to several green ones the last few years.

We're due for a snow event tonight into tomorrow. Not a happy camper about that! The snow is beautiful on the trees & grass, but I wish it wouldn't stick to the roads, and make driving a mess.

Has anyone else ever noticed that there is a HUGE change in Gordon's voice between this version and the version on the Gord's Gold CD?

I don't think the difference is huge.

I love both versions of 'SFAWN' (a great song is a great song!!!!).

However, I guess I grew up listening to 'Gord's Gold' so much that I prefer the re-recording on that release.

His voice is so much richer, and the instrumentation (strings, sleigh bells, etc.) make it all the better for it. I believe in the liner notes it even mentions that Gord does not like listening to his early work.

When you hire Lee Holdridge to handle the instrumental arrangements, you're going to get quality work. Too bad Gord never worked with Lee again.

Yes, there is almost 10 years between the original and the GG version. However, have you noticed the difference in his voice between the Shadows and the Salute albums? There's an even bigger difference, and they've only a year apart.
